I have definitely seen in game the one where they replace the "him" with "her."

It's randomly either him or her. They've done this before on the blog. They edited a the wording of a blog post from "he's [referring to the Pyro] going to be inconsolable now" to "she's going to be inconsolable now" to "Pyro's going to be inconsolable now."
