excuse my bad english, im from sweden, i guess that explains all ;)

i was thinking a bit about the physics-engine...

if a barrel comes falling right in your head.. will you lose HP?
and if you make a big round thing, and give it like.. stone-physics.. and put it in a slope, and it starts rolling.. and it hits you.. you lose HP?

if its that way.. it would be possible to make REALLY COOL assaultcourses :>

like some indiana jones-thing and stuff... damn.. cant wait until i get my fingers on the new hammer editor & hl2 :>

yuo'd proberly have to program it to make you lose HP, but it does] interact with the player model.

It will be like that in the game.

Judging from what info Valve has released, (everything in the game has a certain weight, including Gordon) I assume that would be in the game. Forgive meh if it has been stated before ;).

No, i wont forgive you :)

Like valve says, if it's not in there it's a design decision, not a technical limitation.

You won't have to program it anyway it's already built in the game. Like eraser said, every object have a weight, so if a 300kg rock falls on your head, it will do alot of dammages. It is also true if you throw a nade into a rock pile and one of the rocks goes into your face, it hurts :)

That's very good to hear. I was hoping it'd be that way. It was a payne in the arse to to program them in Max Payne 2.

sounds better than best :>
aaaaaaaaah i want the hammer editor, i wanna start mapping! :p

No you'll definitely lose HP, seen a movie of the techdemo map where a guy throws a barrel on himself.
Sorry, does this violate the policy?

Valve says that if something heavy enough lands on a headcrab, the headcrab goes squash. This also means that if something heavy enough lands on gordon, gordon goes squash, too :-D

Apparently it's ok to talk about the beta now... Just not link to pictures or release spoilers :/

In that case, having played the beta, yes, things falling on your head do hurt.

EDIT:

According to Munro:

Clarification - HL2 'Beta' Illegal Release talk

It is allowed to discuss the illegal release. It is allowed to discuss it's implications, how it effects the community and what people's thoughts are on it. It's allowed to discuss what's in it. However what is not allowed is links to screenshots or files of any content from the release of this 'beta' or the source code. Requests for the 'beta' or source code are also not allowed.
