QI - BBC

It's not a great show and is very often factually incorrect which really annoys me.

Except it's a great show and it is factually correct most of the time.

Went to see an episode be recorded and the audience won that episode, get in!

QI is the greatest thing to happen to TV. It should be compulsory viewing at home and in schools.

QI is amazing, how else would I know that shoe sizes are measured in "Barleycorns"

Well most of the time isn't good enough. The shows got this intellectual snobbishness to it when in fact Stephen Fry obviously isn't all that intelligent, I can't stand the guy.

His apple arse licking is in poor form too, especially given the conditions of the works who make the ipads who have been killing themselves en mass to escape it.

So the Earth has two moons?

Less of a moon and more of a Quasi-satellite (A quasi-satellite's orbit around the Sun takes exactly the same time as the planet's, but has a different eccentricity)

Oh dear, British humor soars above my simple American brain.

The earth has 4 known quasi satellites so it either has 1 moon or 5.

QI is a brilliant show, by far the best panel show England has

I think they addressed this in a later episode. They asked the same question again and caught out Alan who said two. I don't remember if QI said they got it wrong before or if more were discovered.

The same thing happend with the triple point of water. Dara O'Brien said it was 0C but t is actually 0.01C and corrected it in a later episode.

Oh yes I remember that, Alan buzzed in super confident and he got the claxon :D
So it's not a moon, OK then Stephen Fry can go eat shit.

And Glenn, no, not interesting, funny is the word.
OK although Stephen Fry isn't liked by Solaris, he's a national treasure to pretty much everyone in the UK. Some people occasionally like to break trend and dislike someone just because everyone else likes them.

Also Remus, my point about interesting instead of funny = seems you missed the point completely. Go find out more about the show!

This is HL2.net, where things are interesting because Glenn commands you to think they are.

It's not just on HL2.net that the best description for the show is quite interesting Sheepo.

Haha, if facepalming was still cool I would have just slapped myself in the face with a walrus flipper.

I dunno, I'm very fond of Have I Got News For You. Paul Merton has brilliant chemistry with Ian Hislop.

As for QI/Stephen Fry, I think it's very funny but I'm not a fan of his apple-ness (just 'cause I hate them xD), though I do love him in general, especially when he's with Hugh Laurie.

I'll concede that there are some qualities which are completely definitive, but being interesting is not one of them. If I'm not interested in horses I will not find the most fascinating horse documentary in the world interesting.

Seems like an odd course of action.

I certainly do not mean to cause any offense or appear elitist in my views or anything, but anyone who expressed any kind of negative comment whatsoever towards Stephen Fry- get the **** out.

QI is brilliant. Stephen Fry is a genius. End of.

Looks pretty neat (and there are some full episodes lying around youtube, woo~).

Speaking of british shows, been watching some Never Mind the Buzzcocks lately. The older stuff is pretty funny (when I can actually catch the references), mostly the stuff with Bill Bailey, heh. Guy sho does get around.

If you like those give the IT Crowd and The Mighty Boosh

QI is a great show. Some of the British humour goes over my head, but for the most part its very funny.

Seen all of IT, need to watch it again one of these days (and Darkplace for that matter :D). We get Boosh here too... not really into it.

We actually get a decent amount of british TV here, some more welcome than others. Mum never misses an episode of Coro St, for example.

Oh dear god they're there too D:

Except no one said the fact that it's called Quite Interesting means you would find it interesting. Try reading carefully, please.

And because the show is called "Quite Interesting" automatically dictates that we should find it interesting. Flawless logic right there.

No, he was just making a joke. You said the show was quite funny, but no, the show is 'Quite Interesting'. Which was rather well played.

Only took 3 pages, that must be some kind of record.

I won't make the connection between being slow / stupid and not liking QI. It seems obvious.

Well to be fair

A) Remus was seriously discussing his opinion on the show and he had no reason to assume you were joking. A good example of a joke being so simple and obvious that no one realizes it's a joke.

B) I only read one post in this thread.

C) I expressed no opinion on the show.

Completely agreed. Well said, AJ! Stephen Fry is a god and should be worshipped by every Briton!

I have limited experience with Stephen Fry but he pretty much completely rubs me the wrong way. Kind of a douche?
