I found access to the Console in the Demo(this is also for the full version). If you have NO attention to cheat, do NOT read the Spoiler below.
(I found the info from IGN.com upon looking for cheats. It was the first listed site in Google)

Right-Click on the Demo shortcut on your Desktop, and change it to ""C:\Program Files\id Software\Quake 4 Demo\Quake4.exe" +set com_allowConsole 1".
Then you can hit your Tide key to bring down the console. Ingame, you got your God cheat. And just like it was in Quake 2, you got to re-enter it every new level.
The "give all" cheat that it mentions won't work, it says the word "give" is an unknown command.

And I just found the Strafe Left and Right keys. It's "Move Left" and "Move Right". Makes surviving the game alot more possiable. lol

Yes you need a 512MB card to run at max settings (at least without stuttering). The game can be playable on a 256mb card though especially if you have lots of ram (ie 2GB).

I have 1 gig of ram, a 256mb X700 Pro, and a P4 2.6ghz processor with Hyper Threading... it should work for me then, shouldn't it? But it just crashes. :|

I thought the rifle was decent.
And yes, the sky was pretty bad. The only thing that made it decent was those cool planes flying overhead.
I like this game alot more than HALO. It's gorier, more atmospheric(I love how you can constantly hear and pick up other soldier's conversations) and has alot more action. Not to mention Marines in Q4 are actually worth something unlike some other gamescough Halo cough.

I might pick it up if I get a new gfx card for christmas. I could only play on Low quality with minor stuttering.

What I like about it is the NPC's. How they "point you in the right direction" of where to go next.

Teamplay with NPC's is better then it is in HL2 (but this is just the Demo).

Did I mention that 1 Corpal guy (the Sharp-Shooter) PWNS?! :thumbs: Even though that was a scripted scene, I wouldn't mind him being my backup against the Strogg Forces. :sniper:

I saw the Videos on quake4game.com and their really cool! It shows being in a tank and a Battle Bot.

There's something else I don't understand. The trailer says "the best way to fight them, is to become 1 of them".
How can you be when you still use conventional weapons like Rocket Launchers, Hyperblasters, and other Q2-Named weapons?
And if so, does that mean you'll actually turn on your human allies?

BTW, that red spider...thingy reminds me of a Strider, but on steroids.

Why your system does not have 512MB of VRAM. SLI systems dont double the VRAM it stays the same. There is currently only a very small selection of 512MB parts with this one being the best.

Hmmm, i always thought it doubled...
My friend has pretty much the same specs as me, but with one 7800GT and a little less RAM... and Ultra quality lagged for him. I get no lag at all.

Yes you have so much ram and such a fast system it doesnt make a difference! :thumbs:

Try looking on the Quake forums to see if anyone else is having the problem.

It shouldent crash just lag. Try lowering your screen resolution. You might run completely out of ram causing a crash. Also try updating your video drivers.

The newest ones for ATI and NVIDIA have improved performance/less bugs in Q4.

Just because the gameplay style is stuck in the "Few years ago" catagory its nice to see a shooter that is an action based experience. Besides I thought it was worth buying for the Drop-Pod assault alone. Oh, and the Stroggification.
