Quake 4 preview in the next month PC gamer

Yeah well, not a HL2 review, but you know what, whatever. Quake 4, let's see what Raven can do with Doom III engine. I sure HOPE I won't be made to crawl in another moon base or whatever, and every 5 mins a monster will pop out the wall. Still, I am bit optimistic, but one must wonder though, how much cock did PC gamer suck to get this.

Raven is a VERY solid developer. Quake IV is gonna rock.

I go to the Raven forums from time to time and I read a lot of stuff about Quake IV. I'm probably one of the most hyped up about this because I am a huge Quake fan; let alone, Quake II.
Quake IV will be better than DoooooooM III.

Blast my ass, silly newb. I don’t see any threads in general gaming, a forum where everything and anything about Quake 4 belongs. So yeah, I could care less if there is a thread in HL2 discussion forum.


As for Raven, they were hit and miss lately. With horrible SoF2 and average SW: Academy, I really, and I mean REALLY, hope they do something amazing with a game and engine itself.

Quake IV is being made under teh evi...err...watchful eye of id Software.
And that character in the magazine looks like a new Stroggos from what I remember from playing Quake II.
I said it before and I'll say it again, Quake IV=Better than Half-Life 2 and more bigger future hype.
If Raven does **** this up, I'll rape Kenn Hoekstra.(even though he had nothing to do with it)

Well while it’s good, in a sense that at least from technical side everything will be tops. Plus Raven always used ID’s engines to the limit. However, ID should leave game design decisions to the Raven itself, after poorly average (in my cynical opinion) Doom III.

I have a feeling that Raven may spark up a 'Jedi Outcast' if you know what I mean, I hated the saber fight system, but the gameplay was good.
What would really impress me is, if Raven manages to not only upgrade the graphics, but make it run faster than Doom III on high details and resolution. And work better on ATI cards.

I don't understand how they are expanding the Quake 2 storyline. I thought you killed the Strogg Commander, and their world was in ruins.

They must have had a back-up planet.

The Makron may have died, but remember, when you beat him, his severed body was still moving and he is cybernetic, not all the Strogg where killed. Someone must've fixed him. I've seen illegal leaked pictures with

that cover looks almost as good as Unreal 3, but i do emphasize the word "Almost", i knew thew D3 engine was advance, and i garantee you that Raven will make alot better use of it given the extra developing time.

Things we'll see

More physics, The reason Doom 3 doesn't have alot of interactive things is because it would crush alot of peoples computers and the min specs would be 1.8-2GHz CPU. of course the extra time will give more optimization.

Betta graphics, The cover speaks for itself. Anyone notice the pointy low poly head is gone? as well as much clearer textures and normal mapping. there are still a few pointy things but this game is scheduled for a Q4 05 release so you can't expect everything to be perfect.

This game has to be better then HL2 and DOOM3 considering all the media/game info we've seen.

We know next to nothing about this game and already your declaring it better then D3/HL2( which hasn't been released yet). Ohhh ya I see were this is going.
