The first scans of Quake 4 in PC Zone have leaked out. I know I'm not allowed to post them here, so I won't. They shouldn't be too hard to find though.

What are your thoughts? I thought when I saw them 'WTF? This is Doom 3!'
It looks exactly like Doom 3, and I'm not exaggerating.

I haven't seen anything that would be worth any excitement from me, looks like Doom 3.5 or some fancy Doom 3 MP mod.
The preview says it's a sequel to both Q2 and Q3. In SP it continues the Q2 storyline, and MP is gonna be like Q3.

Doesn't make my blood pump any faster so far, but hey we'll see how things will turn out.
 
I believe actually, if there are only pictures, then you can post them. ie, if the scan has some text on it, then you wouldn't be allowed.

Don't hold me to that though :)

Okay.....I know this against the rules, so sorry mods in advance.....but can I get some PM love? I'm a PC Gamer subscriber so I'll be paying for it eventually, it just hasn't arrived yet.
 
Sorry, it has lots of text in them (although it's one of them typical previews: a single picture stretched out on a page to meet the minimum pages required) so I can't post them.

Can I however post a non-direct link to the frontpage of the site who has them?
 
Okay, checked it out.

The graphics look like Doom 3. That is to say spectacular. The gameplay sounds a whole lot more fun than Doom 3 though. Definitely gonna buy this one.
 
Ive seen em...they dont look that amazing...but I guess its the crappy quality of the scan :p

edit: and yeah, it basically looks identical to d3, it is using the d3 engine right ? :p
 
looks just like Doom 3...same enviorments too..not excited at all..never liked Quake anyway...

meh, i was never really excited about this game, and those screens dont really make me hyped.

what if the images are from a gaming site? they have the site's name on them, so I'm not so sure it's from the pc-zone article
 
Just looked at the scans and it deosn't look as impressive as I'd hoped. :/ Looks very... plain. Just hope that their shite screenshots.
 
Hope they won't put vehicles in Quake 4 mp ... that would suck so much. Totally doesnt fit in the Quake universe.

Ermmm....

Scans show that there are going to be vehicles. Looks like UT2k4 on the Doom 3 engine.
 
I was browsing the Quake 4 forums a few months back and noticed that they were discussing what type of vehicles they would like to see in Quake 4. One of the devs posted in there too hinting towards the possibillity. So...
 
I don't think this will be that great tbh. I had higher hopes for Doom 3 than Quake 4.

I saw the scans, just hope they wont be included in MP...
 
They look pretty nice to me.

Also looks like there might be some pretty big outdoor areas judging from one of the pics.

What did I just say a few posts back? I'm not going to ruin the thread for everyone actually, I'll just issue you both your final warnings. Don't step out of line again.
 
:dozey: They said the Doom III engine could do lots... just have to wait and see.
 
So yeah, seen some scans, and I tell you, game looks exactly like Doom III, except not as dark. By exactly, I mean like a Doom III mod. Also, no, seems like Raven didn’t do anything great with Doom III engine, so look forward to bunch of low textures, but these time you can actually see them.

Good thing though, it says gameplay will be fast-paced, so yeah I hope to see more enemies on a screen and a rooms bigger then a god damn corridor with three boxes.
 
One of the screencaps from the scan.. the one player model looks almost identical to the Doom marine. I was like "omgwtfbbq, HI DOOM MARINE"

At the most, the Doom 3 engine will be 2 years old when Quake 4 is released (assuming massive delays). Can you imagine what a Doom 3 powered game will look like in 5 years?

I think Quake 4 looks impressive. Though I'm not getting a Quake 2 type of vibe from this game. I guess time will tell.
 
Also I will add, I won’t get ANY hype for this game EVER. I wasn’t even hyped for Doom III and that game managed to disappoint me. So yeah, I will set my mind that Quake 4 will be absolutely sucky game, I hope that way it turns out to be great.
 
:dozey: I was never hyped about any quakes... I am keeping an eye on this one because of the graphics, har har... it looks like Doom III, but then again it looks like it's going to be better.
