In the 'secret' Sudden Death level, there's a BFG10K hidden behind the timer. Is there a way to get that legitimately?

I don't know if it's how long it's been since I've played...but...I can't remember what you're talking about D:

In the factory level, near where you first get the railgun, you can jump into a waterfall and go to a level full of weapons and whatnot, but you only have 30 seconds to grab whatever you can, after which you return to the left off. I found the gun by noclipping around, but haven't been able to get to it through normal gameplay. It might be something that you can't actually get (left behind by the developers), but I don't know for sure.

Level start:

BFG10K location (in an alcove hidden behind the timer). Note that the weapon in the glass container below the timer is a railgun that you get by pressing a lever elsewhere.

The ****...i never knew about this. Is this really in the PC version?

There's a similar scene in Doom 3 where you can see a BFG behind a glass. I don't think you can get it.

Edit: While looking at the glass, type impulse 106 to see if it has a targetname. If it does have one, you can open it.

Damn, I haven't played that game in years like since it was first released. What made you think that those of us who've played remember what level Sudden Death is? Like Doom, every level in Quake II is a factory/laboratory level. Except a couple were on a ship, that's all I remember about Quake II's levels.

OR I could just be ignorant and there are still plenty of fans who still play it. *shrugs*

I want to play it again actually, but I really don't feel like messing around with DOSbox and abandonware sites atm.

^ owned. But yeah I never knew of that level either D: WTF I thought I explored every crag, nook, and cranny in that game!

I wish Half-Life had secret levels too.

Edit: Oh wait, I completely forgot about secret dinosaur level. I still don't understand why Valve removed it.

Yes, stock maps. It plays fine on XP, but I've had a few snags running it on Win7 64-bit, although not a fresh install.
