I played it, been in the beta for a while now, and it runs like crap on whatever pc or browser I try playing on. It's just unplayable for me.
 
lol what kind of comp do you have? Thats odd, for IE it wouldn't work for me at all but with FF its fine.

Anybody have another invite? That'd be great, even though there probably aren't too many Aussie/NZ servers (?).
 
Ah tough luck... ID removed invites... We'll I'll invite you guys in when they'll open invites again. They usually give everyone like 5 invites, but they'll only have like 5000 slots for invites. So usually only a few people have time to use all of their invites.

Edit: And if the game runs like shit you should try opening the console ctrl+alt+tilde and typing r_enablepostprocess 0.

The fps problem seems quiet common. Althou the game should run on a 10-year-old pc.
 
I really, really want in on this. I was a huge Q3 guy! I miss the hell out of deathmatch.
 
Argh... I've been trying to get into this beta since like 2007. What's taking them so long with this game, anyway? And why are they being so stingy with their beta invites?

Dunno where you got this info, but it's wrong. There's not a single drip of CPM in this game. It's all vq3.

I got in two days ago, and it's awesome, though it could be better. The Clan Arena mode is pretty much like Rocket Arena 3, but you damage your own armor when you rocketjump. It's a great gamemode, but it lacks the awesome maps from ra3 (ra3map1 and ra3map11). They also rebalanced the weapons (railgun and lightninggun do about 20% less damage). They imroved the netcode (no need to shoot in front anymore or use timenudge) and from what I can see in the new maps, they added SSAO (could be wrong).

I'm sad to see there's no CPM in this game, especially when the new maps are quite suitable for it.


Btw, vq3 is the standard physics in quake3. CPM (challenge promode) was modded in to be more like the first quake. With CPM physics you can steer in-air and instantly switch weapons (and a few other small things).
 
Damn, why didn't I open this thread earlier, now I want to play ><. If ID restores the invites and anyone has one to spare, I'd be grateful. :)
 
I have no idea where I got that CPM fact. Sorry for that. Gues I was just browsing the forums and read something wrong. I really like the fact that the nerfed LF and rail. LG still does huge dmg in duels. And rail has always been the easiest weapon to use. I mean every one can get +50% with just a few days of practise.

I just hope we'll get more maps soon. Maybe some Q2 maps ^^

Anyone else having lag isssues? Not high ping but huge lag spikes? I'm getting spikes all the time. Duel is impossible to play since you get fragged during a spike :/

Just got done playing for about 30 min, and the K : D function is a little off. I died a shit done, but was apparently 5 and 1. WOO!

Damn, sometimes I feel as if I was playing against people that never stopped playing Q3 since it's release. I'm an FPS player, though not the twitcher-type, where hopping around the place is a normal way of moving in the game. So that's probably why any experience I have may not be that much of use. Still, I thought there would be more noobs signing up to play.

I don't want friends in that system, it makes my game flash and jitter when something's going on with friends.

Also pitz, maybe you were playing instagib? Those stats aren't counted. My k/d is pretty shit because I almost always play Clan Arena.
