New single. The youtube equalization is pretty god-awful though, it doesn't do the track justice at all.

[edit] Found a video with better sound. But as always an mp3 is preferred.

Anyone else like QOTSA? I just got into them... always loved the singles, the albums so far are pretty awesome.

Queens are OK but there are much better stoner rock bands out there:

Queens derived from one of the greatest stoner rock bands of the 90s; Kyuss. Personally I feel QOTSA broke off from their 'stoner' label post Rated R and wavered towards more a more focused desert rock/abstract/alt. sound, especially when they took Troy on board.

Era Vulgaris is shaping up to be one hell of an album, I love the simplicity and rhythm behind SSS and from what I've heard from other tracks that have been 'released', there's certainly a similar sound to their self-titled album.

Can't wait to hear the re-worked version of 'Wanna Make It Witchu', such a damn good song.

Man I'm glad they picked up the bloke from DFA as their bassist - he's excellent. His style really fits for Queens.

I wish this album would leak already.

I heard that Keeler ended up not having time to record for Era Vulgaris. But it's not the end of the world, the bass sounds at least decent on Sick Sick Sick.

Also, a few tracks have been leaked. Aside from Sick Sick Sick, I've seen Era Vulgaris and 3's And 7's. So far it's looking like the album will be much more consistent than other QOTSA releases, and the song Era Vulgaris has Trent Reznor doing guest vocals \o/

Oh, is that not him? Wounder. :( Ah well, still sounds awesome!

Why are telling us this? It has no relevance in whether or not Queens are good whatsoever. It's like someone not liking St. Anger..."yeah but Metallica was one of the greatest thrash bands of the 80s..."

Songs for the Deaf sounded pretty stoner rock to me.

Meh. I'm off to listen to Dozer.

Man, I haven't listened to these guys in the longest time. Love all their albums, except Lullabies which I haven't really given the time of day yet.

Really need to check out some Kyuss, the 2 or 3 tracks I've heard were pretty grouse (oh yeah, I'm going 90s on your ass).

Edit - Also, genres =/= music. Take a note.

Kyuss is 90's but it hasn't dated at all, well except maybe their debut. But yeah, definitely check them out.

It is entirely relevant. Your statement implied QOTSA are primarily a stoner rock band. Kyuss was stoner rock, QOTSA are a mixture of genres and influences, therefore judging them on the basis of being stoner rock holds no relevance. Even Homme himself stated that he hates the label;

The term sucks. The only element of the audience I want to get rid of is the shirtless, sweaty, maxi-mullet jock dudes. We want sex to bleed into the music. At our shows, we want to see half boys and half girls in a utopian world, dancing and drinking

OT, anyone pre-ordered their copy of Era Vulgaris yet? I heard the UK edition comes with a studio version of The Fun Machine Took A Shit And Died. Slightly disappointed that they cut the only track with Reznor on backing vocals though :(

I tried to give the video a chance, but that music is just awful

Okay, I see what you mean Pulse.

I believe he also hates the term "stoner rock" because it implies the use of weed. A lot of stoner rock bands don't smoke at all.
