Question about half-life: source

Does someone (positively) know if Valve/VU is going to make it available separately? Retail and/or Steam?

Please, don't reply with statements like "just buy the silver pack over steam." That is not an answer to the question I have posed.

You see, all I want is a hard-copy (DVD disc) of Half-life 2, CSS and HLS.

I don't want T-shirts, books or whatever they are trying to use to justify absurd price(increase)s.

So does someone know it (via Gabe, Lombardi, etc)?

yea, they wont sell u the silver or gold in stores
ull just be able to get the bronze
silver and gold are only avaliable through steam

I believe the only retail package that will include HL1: Source is the Collectors Edition. I could very well be incorrect though. I don't believe Valve has wholly released anything about DoD: S or HL1: S other than the fact they exist, and will be available to both Silver and Gold packages. Everything else is just theory.

There is some deal with activision that makes it so dod:s cant be in with a VUG product. or something.

Again, I don't know for sure, but I expect that HL:Source will be available separately on steam after a while. Probably the same as CS:S.

Right now it makes more sense for them to combine these with HL2/Silver pack to force people to buy the entire pack if they want them, thus grabbing more money from their pockets.

However it is possible that they'll never be available outside of a silver pack - I doubt Doug would tell you anything useful if you asked, anyway.

HL:s was indeed ancounced to be with HL2 CE but I wonder if that means the CE is released later ot is HL:s done too?
(latest interview looked like they were still busy at it or I am interpretating it wrong )

I guess I'll have to e-mail them directly for an answer. I highly doubt I am going to become any more intelligeble on this matter. If I by any means get an answer I will post it here (if I get permission to do so).
