I have a Sony HD3 NW 20Gi MP3 Player which is faulty (it will not power up, therefore taking away the ability to access the mp3 player via comp). Sony has issued a product recall, but I wanted to know if they would "comment" on the so-called illegal MP3's on the mp3 player.

Any help will be appreciated.

I doubt it. I am sure those others that are going to return theirs have a couple of illegal songs on there. Don't worry about it.

Also, get a Creative Zen if you like storage of 20 GB or more or the Creative Zen Micro if you like tiny objects that hold 5 GB of music

Why the hell would they listen to your music...?
And how would they know you didn't have the cd?

ok 1 they wont care. 2 ipod > creative. 3 dont buy things from sony (have had sooo many defective diskmen etc in the past).

they're won't know that's it illegal...
heck they won't even nother to look to see if you have any songs...

zappa, iPod sucks, Sony is awesome

They wont care trust me.
Why?
Money. Sure Sony is filthy rich but guess what...if they do it to every single customer.....there customers leave them. They tell other people, they leave them.

They're not illegal if you own the CD, for all they know you could have 10 billion cds

iPod sucks ass. Sony owns. Creative owns. End discussion.
About the illegal thing... I'm sure they couldn't care less.

Seriously... who doesn't have at least some illegal music on their mp3 player? I mean, about half of my stuff is from my own cd collection, the rest uhm... isn't.
