I'm going to overclock my 9600 pro card, but i have a question before i do that hopefully can be answerd. I have "Rage3D Tweak" downloaded, and want to know in general, a good stopping point in overclocking.

Heres what the Settings are at default:

Core Clock: 398.25 mhz

Memory Clock: 297.00 mhz

How far do you guys think i should go before it starts getting dangerous? Whats the speed of a 9700? Could i overclock my 9600 pro to a 9700 speed?

BTW, i know that theyres a sticky about overclocking already, but im in a hurry, and need an answer fast.

thanks.

Depends on several factors, including the airflow inside your case.

Best point to stop is just before you start getting visual artifacts, or the temperature gets too high.

Yeah, and anal readings are usually much more accurate than oral.

(Joking joking joking joking)

But watch out for Friggy, he can screw up your readings.

Yeah, but he hasn't screwed up your ISA card yet, or my camera.

Also, not to start another thread, what are some of the pros/cons for the Radeon 9600 Pro 256 MB RAM?

I'd love to know that too, as that's the one I'm getting.

I've heard that the extra 128MB will help with large textures...

Yeah, that's also the one I am most likely getting also :D
I hear on the Benchmarks it was 50 fps.. but thats all I know :P
