My school are just starting to update their Microsoft Office to 2003. I got told that if you did work on an Office 2007 at home, but if I took it to school to edit on their Office 2003, I wouldn't be able to open it?

Is this true?

Not likely. Microsoft is all about backwards compatibility...there should be no reason you cant open the document in an older version...

There are new formats for 2007, but once you save something as 2003 it will stay that way.

Just do a save as 97-2003 and it'll be fine. Once you do that, you can tell it's in 2003 mode by the [Compatibility Mode] thing next to the filename by the top.

That and they have a new compatibility patch out. Like the new office? It's a big step forward then my version (Office 2000).

Office 2003 has a compatibility patch that can be downloaded and installed. The school systems may not let you though since you probably need admin rights. So just save as Office 2003 compatibility to avoid headaches.
