Question about the HL1 Add-Ons...?

I finished HL no problem. Played it through a couple times actually. I bought Opposing Force but never finished it due to lack of interest, and totally never played Blue Shift. No interest at all. Now, I've been hearing there are alot of story components that were in the ends of BS, and OPF. Will HL2 give me a run through of all the stuff that happened in between HL1, and itself? Im affriad I missed some important stuff, but I really dont feel like going out to buy Blue Shift, or Finishing Opposing Force to find out...

Opposing Force was great,sometimes even better then HL ( those marines kick ass!)
Blue shift is a nice game, but just too damn short
