Where do you think Gordon came from? I mean, before he rode the train to city 17.
 
he was in stasis.....its not really anywhere it just exist.

did you even play hl1?
 
Of course I did. I just hope Valve releases like a prequel to Half Life 1, with Gordon Freeman. :P
 
there isnt much to it before hl1 except going to MIT and sciecerrrrr stuff

Nothing happened. The moment you accept the Gman's offer you emerge on the C17 bound train 10-15 years later. Suspended outside of normal time and space.

I think a HL1 prequel with Gordon would be bad, mainly because you know, Black Mesa transit is where it all starts. I think from another perspective it would be cool--I'd like to see the Resonance Cascade from the perspective of more scientists, with the likes of Azian, Breen and what have you.
 
Agreed.

Thats why I loved HL1's expansions. You were controlling someone else.

Although playing as Alyx would be destroying her personality.
 
im surprised no-one has commented on the fact gordon has remained exactly the same for however long he was in the stasis!
i know Eli says "you havent changed a bit man"
but shouldn't he be like "omfg gordon why are you still 20 something?!?!!"

What would the prequel be called, Half life 0,5, Gordon goes to black mesa.

Cause who would pay 60 dollars for a game where you walk, and you keep on walking until you find a door, that's a great game huh?

Anyway, doing a prequel with somebody else than Gordon wouldn't have that "Half lify" feeling, I don't know.

No they haven't, he was in a ****ing stasis by a guy who can manipulate time, WHY IN GOD NAME WOULD THEY KNOW????
 
eli is all-knowing! he talks to gordon about 'our mutual fiend' in episode two.
 
I figure it'd be interesting if he was taken out now and then for other assignments. Not long ones, so he wouldn't age much, but just enough for his money's worth.

Why would you react in that way in the first place?

And i've spotted a few scenes were you kinda get a "hint" about them knowing alittle more about the hole thing, then yourself.

teh gmanz and all of it.
THE black mesa incident was set up by Eli to see who could survive a terrible ordeal in one piece.
the winner(s) would then be taken by Gman into stasis for 10 - 20 years so Eli's Daughter, Alyx, could grow up and have the winning man!
obv their children would be super durable and smart and would rule the world.
Gordon being the first choice gets his chance with Alyx in Hl2 + Eps., but should he die! then Adrian Shephard would then fill in, since he also survived, albeit not as smart or as tough as gordon!

Well, Eli didn't know that Gordon was still alive until many years later (HL2), so obviously he gave Kleiner a shot at Alyx first.

^^^ That was the reception room of the Black Mesa Research Facility. Valve put the G-Man in Black Mesa for that scene as he is talking about Black Mesa for you to reflect back on the events of Half Life 1.

It would be very interesting to see a mod/release of the Seven Hour War. To see what happened with the Earth for those ~20 years while Gordon was asleep or whatever.
