Quick question

When i use the browse games thing on steam i see that the "silver" and "gold" packages are only available on steam.. does this mean i can't buy it in stores? that would SUCK cuz i dont have a freakin credit card ...

Bronze, silver and gold packages are special Steam packages that are available only on Steam.

In shops, you will be able to buy either the Standard version or Collectors Edition.

Standard contains Half-Life 2 and CS:Source, while the CE contains all that, some collectors items and Half-Life: Source.

DOD:Source isn't included in there because Activision is the publisher of DOD and own the sole rights to publishing.

I don't exactly see what you mean..

You can buy bronze silver or gold in steam.. Or you could get the regular package or CE at the store...

The regular package is like bronze.

You can buy HL:S or DOD:S at any time, if you bought bronze or regular retail. (Meaning you don't already have it)

Yup. But i think you can get a retail package with hl2 and cs:s but not dod:s etc. Why dont you borrow a friends credit card and use that, then pay him the cash.

Great for seeing what source can do when playing CS:S

No, sorry.

You can only get HL:S or DOD:S through Steam. (Buying them seperatly ofcourse)

VALVe are currently looking at options for other types of payments, maybe using a company something similar to paypal?

And I think I have seen a quote somewhere where Gabe has said you will be able to purchase HL:S or DoD:S seperately so dont get too angry.

First of all, watch your attitude.

Secondly, wouldn't Valve make MORE money buy letting people buy DOD:S in stores? More sales = more money, no?

Valve wouldn't have made HL2 if all they thought about was money. They could have lived the good life from all the sales of Half-Life.

So watch it.
