For some reason, Quicktime decided it was going to take over all the plugins for firefox. So, if there's a flash file, quicktime tries to play it. This was pretty obnoxious, since Quicktime can't handle Flash for shite. I tried to tell it not to handle flash, but it wouldn't listen. I tried reinstalling the Flash player, but that didn't work. I tried completely uninstalling quicktime and itunes, and now it won't show flash at all, but tells me that I need quicktime to view the page. How do I fix this?

Silly.. you'll have to go into your quicktime pref's and untick everything you dont want it to show and make sure something like "check to see if im the defult player" and if that doesnt work you'll probably just have to reinstall quicktime/flash/etc and make sure you uncheck things you dont want ones to play.

I did that already... and anyways, quicktime is even installed right now... And after I reinstalled flash player it is STILL asking me to install quicktime any time i go to a page with flash on it

Try this. Open up an explorer window (my computer), go to Tools and Folder Options.
It should be under File Types but scroll down til you see SWF (flash format) and see if you can change what application opens it by default.

I just felt like I should step into this thread and let it be known that I think Quicktime is a festering pile of poo. Mission complete.

pffff IE. i want to be cool. I want to go against the establishment. I want to be different. I want firefox. actually i like it because of the tabbed browsing. doesn't use up the taskbar. that's it.

i think your problem is firefox, it's really just a fad and will be dead soon enough, especially with IE2 still around :upstare:

Use IE :D. I honestly don't know why there is so much hype about firefox. Anyway, if what Asus posted doesn't work a good place to search around on would be:

Using ie will get you tons of shit on your computer, even if you have sp2 installed.

Firefox will be around for much longer, and i think you mean IE7, i haven't used IE2 since win95. IE 7 doesn't bring much to the table, it adds what everyone already has and takes away from some things that there were(ex. gui, problems with rss feeds, it doesn't have themes/extensions, and it's not open source, i believe that there are some web design programs built on firefox).

Totally agree with that. It will take something huge on m$'s front to make ie7 better than firefox feature wise.
