Oh dear. It seems my shiny new computer isn't perfect after all. It seems every so often (ranging from minutes to hours) the mouse will become unrecognized (windows will do the hardware beep) hang, and then re-recognize the mouse (beep again). This pretty much happens at the worst possible moments in whatever game I'm playing at the time.

Does helplife2.net have any idea what could be causing this? Should I just RMA the board before it's too late?

Sounds like a conflict between your mouse and some other hardware trying to use the same address...had the same problem a while back when I built my first PC...could use the joystick or have sound..moved the sound card to a new slot and the problem was resolved....

Strange, I've never had a problem like this.

I should also add I'm using the most up to date Vista 64-bit drivers for everything (including the mouse driver and firmware for my Copperhead) and this seems to be the only obvious problem. Windows is completely up to date and I even flashed my bios to try to solve the problem, but to no avail.

Do you really think moving the sound and or graphics card would help? My hardware seems to work perfectly simultaneously except for those moments I wrote about above.

I dont know...unplug accessory cards one at a time until your mouse works flawlessly...then move that card to a new slot if available...also, have you tried moving your mouse to a different usb port?
