R6. Please be true!!!!

Sounds like they're reinventing the series a bit. Hopefully it doesn't go the way of Splinter Cell.

it's like be like those shitty Vegas games.Don't hold ur breath.

STOP NAMING GAMES/MOVIES THE SAME AS THE FIRST IN THE SERIES.

constant internet connection required.

Rainbow Six will be a far more story-driven game than previous iterations of the Tom Clancy branded title. The game is meant to take a step in a different direction, telling a bigger, much more gritty cinematic story than previous versions of the game.

This doesn't fill me with hope.

We've also heard that the game will in many ways be a departure from the sameness found in Rainbow Six: Vegas and its sequel, and a return to what helped separate the shooter from others of its ilk.

This is the part where I'm hoping it's a return to the Ravenshield style of play.

Cheers to Raven Shield, the last good R6 game.

I don't mind cover systems. I don't mind third person games but I don't like it when the game keeps forcing me into third person every few seconds! If you want it in third person just ****ing make it a third person game. You can play MGS4 in first person easier than Rainbow Six Vegas.

I didn't buy any ubisoft product since raven shield. this one looks pretty bad.

i hate ubisoft
but conviction wasnt that bad

Where's my CQB? Where's my mission planner?

edit: Hah, the first screenshot they show and it has a huge "HOLD ( X ) VAULT" in the middle of the screen, yeah **** this.

Beats the Middle East/Russia.

Yeah, but not by much. And I think if a game setting did the setting of the Middle East or Russia with the attention to detail and authenticity that developers so often give to New York City it would sort of refreshing. The Middle East and Russia we see in games are almost always stupid American caricatures of those places that are a shallow mixture of Hollywood movies and current headlines.

If they want to have American cities as a setting, why not use one that's not so played out? New York is a great, iconic place, but how about something else for a change?

Why not just go back to globe hoping like they did with the old Tom Clancy games? Double Agent wasn't the greatest, but it was damn awesome traveling from glitzy Shanghai to war-torn Africa.

3rd person tactical shooter with cover system that is "story-driven"?

Console trash. I'll just reinstall Rogue Spear and play that.

I'll probably try it.

I mean the Vegas games didn't hold a light to the older R6 games but doing co-op was pretty fun. Probably going to be a ton better then this MW3 bullshit.

That's basically like saying a cheap and somewhat nasty three-day-old hot dog is going to be a ton better than eating a steaming pile of dog shit. It's true but still not the most compelling argument to spend $60.
