R600 pictures (lololo @ length)

What was wrong with making it shorter in length and longer in width?

This thing had better be able to launch my computer into low orbit with that massive fan.

hahahaha

most pc's can't even fit that thing in the case

That's the OEM version, I believe. The retail card is about 9.5".

wth???? oem doesnt mean a longer card.......it means it wont come in a special box and it wont come with extra cables, software stuff like that.

oem does mean a longer card this time ;)

ZOMG!

The OEM version wouldn't fit in my current case but it would fit in my old metal case.

How come they are different? What kind of sense does that make? Different power consumptions and everything. weird.

I'm not sure exactly about the different power specs. But the OEM versions are ones that will be sold exclusively to builders like Dell, HP, etc. I imagine Dell and the like want the most efficient cooling and the least amount of noise as possible. Though from an article I saw, the fan on the OEM draws 24w, so that could possibly be the difference in the guesstimated power specs we see now.

I just hope Thermalright comes out with a new revision for the HR-03 to accommodate the r600 like they have for the 8800 cards.

Now how the hell is that going to fit inside my case?
