Racist film ‘Machete’ produced with taxpayer funds

is like if in south korea they prohibited the stay of ilegal inmigrants in a state, lets say wongk yiongank hwoarang(invented korean sounding state name),and then lets say a cambodian (if we suposse cambodians migrate en masse to south korea) director residing in south korea made a movie about a cambodian man whit tons of guns saying "**** wongk yiongank hwoarang" while shooting his guns and the like and them a racist south korean talk about how this is a incitation of violence and such blahblah but free speech and such say you cant do anything about that and blahblah....

anyway from what I know korea is a country whit a very low inmigration rate and dificult inmigration policy so dont think you may understand the issue

That makes sense. We deport illegals (of which there are many, from Cambodia, Vietnam, etc.).

Of course, there'd be a riot if someone made a movie about illegals killing Koreans. I mean, 98% of our population is Korean, so a movie about killing Koreans won't be very well accepted, and I would actually think that this movie warranted censoring.

Even if the movie was deliberately over-the-top, ridiculous and tongue-in-cheek?

Some people don't really care. Some people can't see satire if it danced naked in front of them.

I mean, sure I love deliberately over-the-top ridiculous movies, perhaps like Starship Troopers and its ridiculous newsreels. I love it. But I don't know. Something about a race war against Koreans and the massacre of members of an ethnic race is... disturbing.

Care to explain?

If you say racist things, you're a racist. Doesn't matter if it's conscious or subconscious, you are a racist and should be banned.

Now, don't try argumentum ad absurdum, because you will fail at using it. Quoting racist stuff or playing advocatus diaboli doesn't mean you're racist. It all depends on the intent.

Well think of it this way. If you and I are having a debate, and you exerted a valid point. Would you find it offensive if I brushed it off and said "Oh, you are from another country, you won't understand this issue." or "Why are you so butthurt, you must be from that country."
No. I don't think offensive is the right word at all. It's certainly illogical for him to discount some one's entire argument based off of that point (especially when the point applies to anyone, even him).

Yes, but what I said was that he is a racist but he doesn't say overtly or openly racist things, which makes your reply seem to mean "If you're a racist, you have to say racist stuff all the time."

Then what is the right word? Are you a racist as well? I mean only a racist would defend against another person with racist views.

See what I did there? If that isn't offensive then I don't know what is. His arguments aren't only illogical, but prejudice as well. If I attempt to alter your argument to make it seem like a situation where "you are only arguing against me because you support them or because you are from x country", then that is offensvie.

I'd highly consider rewriting this post. I can't make heads nor tails of it.

N, it means if someone's racist, you ban him with extreme prejudice.

LOL @ all of this. I LOVE the blaxploitation films of the 70s. I mean, without them we never would have had Shaft FFS!! Big deal if the Mexicans want one too! Everyone oppressed (ethnic) minority should have one! Anything that gets people actively thinking about racial stereotypes is a good thing imho.

This. As I said, I don't see why you're so bothered by him using that argument. It's desperate and stupid sure, but offensive or racist? I don't get it.

I don't mean the specific incident, but in general.

Yeah, but you used that specific incident as your primary argument.

I concede, I was unclear.

I am criticizing his statements in general, using that as an example of one of his many assumptions.
