Oh no; a hugely racist, inflammatory game with incitement to violence in the real world under real social issues falls afoul of criticism. How could they do this!?

Not bad technically speaking, but horrific in terms of content.

Propagandhi has a great song about this very issue--its called F*ck the Border. Here are the lyrics with commentary following:

Some people have to stay and fight for survival in the country they live in while others have to leave to survive. Corporations cross international borders all the time in search of people to exploit for profit and no one stops them. They call it globalization. On the other hand, the victims of corporate domination are told that they can't cross borders in search of better lives, and are forced to stay and deal with the social, economic and environmental messes the companies leave behind when they inevitably move their operations to places with even more "favourable business climatesî (re: lower wages, lax environmental laws, tax breaks). Looks like capitalism and human-rights don't mix.

EDIT: Ah, I thought you meant the artwork on the Propagandhi splash page--very amateurish, as it should be. Don't let the medium take away from the message! Yes, the artwork for the flash site isn't particularly ornate or intriguing at all....

Yes, this game is vile, but they, like other developers should not be censored because their content is vile. They should be free to make the games they want and it should be up to us as the viewing public to play or not play. 1st Amendment ftw!
 
Thats awful, but cbs take it all the way, is there any real need to go into such detail in their coverage, they literally review the game in detail and I think at some point one of their reporters say 'it's a pretty interesting game' lol.

Someone posted that the othe week on here. It's weak as hell, and isn't it a joke? People take that seriously as a big issue? I swear, maybe every time you see a politically incorrect bumper-sticker or hear a song that says kill whitey we should have a major campaign against music or bumper-stickers, and just ban them all together so we can all sit in traffic bored shit-less and we can all engage in road-rage.

I find it fitting that firefox refused to play the game, while Internet Explorer loaded it up in a flash ... :rolleyes:

Eh, game won't load for me, but I can imagine it. I've got to say, this is getting too ridiculous now. First of all, obligatory sarcastic, "oh noes, RACISM on the INTERNETS!" Now that that's out of the way, let me just say that people are getting way too crazy with being PC and trying to make controversy with every little thing. For God's sakes, it's a flash game. So you shoot some illegal immigrants; well, whoop-de-shit. These kinds of things are all over the internet, for every race and demographic you can think of, but apparently it's ok for Mexicans to get their panties in a twist because border patrol's a big issue right now. Come on.

If there's one thing I can't stand, it's controversy for the sake of controversy. We are talking about an internet animation, not someone actually going out and committing any crimes. This is ridiculous and everyone knows it. "A redneck with flash skills," Stern? And what's with the "Propaghandi" song? Boo-hoo, capitalism, let's let everybody into the country because we're to blame. Listen to this story about my made up friend and feel bad because it's something YOU caused, Amerikkka! Well, I've got a song too:

the game seems tailor made for you ...also find it ironic that you'd make a comment about my rediculing rednecks when in the same very same post you defend the game makers right to be racist

I don't follow.

I didn't think it could be any more obvious I was being sarcastic, but I guess I should have said /sarcasm. I'm not racist, but it's not a crime to be racist, it's just foolish. However, if someone creates a flash game that is racist, doing a big news article only gives it more attention that it deserves, IMO. Once again, I didn't play the game, but who is to say the game creator isn't just making a joke or being ignorant.

What exactly do you do in the game? Is it the game where you avoid police cars on a bicycle? So what? Isn't that the truth? They sneak over the border and avoid border patrols.


EDIT: Has everyone seen "Mind of Mencia" on Comedy Central?

I dont see how this game really diffrent from all of the war games that we manufacturer and put in thousands of game stores every day?

no ...I've played every single gta game ..you call each other names (same race ..san andreas) but as I far as I know you dont call other ethnic groups racial slurs ...and there's certainly no pregnant women in gta
 
Wasnt there pregnant women, Grannies etc in Carmageddon?
It wasnt based on racial stuff though, just drive over random people :p .

Its a funny game, one of my favourites.
Although tbh, GLA comes off the worst, check the Single player and you'll see America and China rescueing Europe while GLA is plundering UN supplies and shooting up civilians->kind of like Al Qaida in grande scale.

But yes, it redicules all sides in general :p

Might as well just target every jpeg, GIF, and hell why not every post of every forum ever in existance?

Exactly what I was trying to say, but I used bumper-stickers and music as an example.
