Radeon 9800 or 9700 PRO?

In your guys' own opinions, which one do you think I should buy?

Prices are close to the same, so that won't make much of a difference in my decision .

u play cs? go for a 9700 pro.. I (and lots of other users) got lots of probs with 9800 pro

id go for the 9800 it has the updated chipset and is slightly faster

get the 9800 np.
If you put in the 9800 pro BIOS, it becomes a 9800 pro.

i have a 9800 np and its immense!

the problems people have with the 9800 series cards and counterstrike is the truform option which basically increases the poly count on models...

and you can turn that off anyhow!

id say go for the 9800np

I've been doin' research 'n shit on which card to buy since like September. So, I think I'm ready to go ahead and choose between these two.

Spire, you'll see a GIANT increase in speed once you get your 9800. I did. I made a giant upgrade from:

1.1 GHZ AMD ATHLON
512 SD RAM
GEFORCE 4 MX 440


To:

2.4 GHz Pentium 4
786 DDR RAM
Ati Radeon 9800 Non Pro (Acts like a damn pro anyway. It's detected as one)

Ask me any game via PM to see how smoothly it is, and if I have it, I can test it for you

I'm running an AMD 1.4 GHz Athlon, how much of a speed increase would I see if I upgraded to say... a Barton 1.8 GHz?

Quite alot, the Barton series has a higher FSB and a larger cache..

I went from an Athlon XP 1700+ (1.47, I OCed it to 1.62 though) to an XP 2500+ Barton (Which is OCed to 2800+), and I must say, it's made a huge difference

Right now, I'm runnin' a P4 2.8ghz, 1Gb DDR RAM (Kingston), GeForce4 Ti4200 w/AGP8x.

I just ordered the ATI Radeon 9800 (non-pro) last night from Ateck.com for $254.00 (Retail package!) I should be gettin' it within 3-4 days. I'm pretty fuggin' excited.

max payne on my system specs (see sig) i can run max payne 2 (new game out a week or 2 ago) with 6xAA and 16xAF at 60fps steady!
