I'm going to be buying one of these cards soon (or maybe an x850), but I'm kind of confused as to what's "better". Is the x800 XL better than an x800? From worst to best, I have a feeling it goes like this:

x800
x800 XL
x800 Pro
x800 XT

Can someone please clarify?

Pro is below XL.

Edit: Actually, what order is this in? If it's from best (top) to worst (bottom), then it's completely wrong. It goes:

x800 XT-PE
x800 XT
x800 XL
x800 Pro
x800 SE
x800

Hmm.. I'm totally confused, the store I'm planning on buying from has the XL priced way below the Pro, and the X850 XT priced lower than the X800 XT.

http://computeravenue.mywinnipeg.com/ - click on the square next to 'Video Cards' then Sapphire (those prices are in Canadian funds, before someone starts screaming about how over-priced they are)
And I have no credit card so I can't order online. :(

So is the X800 XT better than the x850 XT or what? Why would they price it higher than the x850? Maybe just an error?

The Radeon X800 XT uses the R423 chip, has 16 pixel pipelines, a core of 500MHz and a memory of 500MHz.

The Radeon X850 XT uses the R480 chip, has 16 pixel pipelines, a core of 520MHz and a memory of 540MHz.

And the XL is better than the PRO

X800 XL is the way to go for best performance for the money. It's very close to the top for the most part yet you only pay around 300$. Full 16 pipelines as well.

I second that! Great Card!

Price weirdness between the X800 (priced higher) and the X850 (priced lower) could be due to availability (supply and demand). I've seen stuff liek that before, and although does not make sense to you and me - it does to someone!

from my experience (mine, noone elses) every ati card ive had (9600, 9800, and now the x800 xt) has ****ed up on me the EXACT same way. works great for about a year or more, then suddenly the agp ****s up and its stuck at 1x and all ur games are unplayable cuz they either crash to desktop or crash ur entire computer. im just depressed, ignore me.

Solution: Buy PCI-Express.
