I have been wondering about this and I did a search an found no thread on it. The only X800XTs I've seen for sale are the X800XT Platinum Editions. I was wondering is there just a X800XT or are they all Platinum Editions?

Here it says the card is called the "ATI RADEON X800 XT" but under the specifications the product description says "ATI RADEON X800 XT Platinum Edition".

I think its just part of the name, but I'm not the authority.

:O Wait I thought there were 3 types of x800's.

If you compare the last generations labeling Non Pro, Pro, and XT.

So the x800 Pro is really like last gen's Non Pro.
The x800 XT is like last gen's Pro.
Lastly the x800 XT PE is like last gen's XT.

If my information is correct, how much do x800 XT PE's go for?

I'm confused on the same matter but I've never seen just a X800 XT for sale. They always say X800XT PE in the name or description.

:frown: Vice versa for me, I go to BestBuy I see you can pre-order the x800 XT. I want the x800 XT PE(if prices are acceptable)!

Before launch, ATI was going to have the X800XT as their 499$ card. There was some differences at the clock speed that the top end X800 part was benchmarked at on launch day. The X800XT PE is what ships today as the 499$ part which competes with the 6800U AFAIK.
If you look at the first reviews from places like Anandtech, they say X800 Pro and X800 XT Platinum Edition.

I know Compusa listed the X800XT PE as 499$ and Gateway has had a few sales on it too. I believe people have called Gateway and they have confirmed it was the PE.

So now would that card on the Gateway site be considered a X800 XT or a X800 XT PE? The many names make me confused!

The X800 XT, AFAIK will be a card priced at $450 and will be a tad bit better than the 6800 GT.

Don't expect to see a X800XT in stores for a long while.

The manufactures part number seems to match the X800XT PE.

I just bought that thanks to asus and he saved me almost 50 ****in bucks. I just bought a x800 xt pe for the same price of an x800 pro! Thanks asus!

The X800XT PE is an AGP card, The normal X800XT will be a PCI-E card.

ahh so thats how it works...didnt know that moritz thanks.

no, there is no plain X800XT, only X800XTPE.

Secondly, there will be a X800XTPE pcie card, no X800XT

 That sure did buddy.

AGP ONLY: x800 Pro, x800 XT PE
PCI Express: X800 XT, x800 XT PE

ok so the x800 pro is for agp so is x800 xt pe,

pci has x800xt and x800 xt pe,

so what about the x880pro and the x880xt?

i just thought it was x800pro agp and x800xt = x800xt pe = agp

and x8xx anything would be pci x

will the x8xx be for agp and pci? i dont htink so,

all this time i thought the x800xt was the x800xtpt,

:dozey: No no no, the "x880" will be released this Fall, I remember seeing the roadmap @ Anandtech somewhere.

EDIT: found it

http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.html?i=1966

look at the "enthusiast GPU roadmap"

take a look at the R420 and R423 those are the x800 lines. The R423's are just those PCI Express versions of the x800 XT and x800 XT PE

so the R480 should be the x880

Hey, thanks Asus, you just saved me nearly $50 too. Does anyone know when Gateway will actually ship the XT's?

You mean gateway hasnt sent mine?! Its not on its way here?? When the hell is it coming here then? I ordered it a week ago!

Have you emailed them? They probably have many orders to fulfill and they are low on stock. They will ship eventually. It's a top end card, common. ;)

well how can i check on the status of my order?

They should have sent you an e-mail with the expected arrival date. Mine is supose to arrive July 27th.

Guinny I thought you said you were going to get the Asus version of the card not. Gateway doesnt sell the Asus version, only the standard ATI card.

Im happy I bought mine from the store that way if its not in I can go hell at the sales department

Nothing is wrong with it.

I just remeber guinny saying he was going to get the asus version because its optimized for his motherboard.
