...we have come to believe that OK Computer and In Rainbows were meant to complement each other. During the writing and recording process of OK Computer, Radiohead used the working title of Zeros and Ones. If OK Computer is represented by 01, and In Rainbows is represented by 10, then we have 01 and 10. In binary code 01 and 10 complement each other.

Consider that In Rainbows was meant to complement OK Computer, musically, lyrically, and in structure. We found that the two albums can be knit together beautifully. By combining the tracks to form one playlist, 01 and 10, we have a remarkable listening experience. The transitions between the songs are astounding, and it appears that this was done purposefully.

The lyrics also seem to complement each other. There appears to be a concept flowing through the 01 and 10 playlist. Ideas in one song is picked up by the next, such as “Pull me out of the aircrash,” and “When I’m at the pearly gates, this will be my videotape.”

To create the 01 and 10 playlist, begin with OK Computer’s track one, Airbag, and follow this with In Rainbow’s track one, 15 Step. Alternate the albums, track by track, until you reach Karma Police on OK Computer, making All I Need the tenth track on the 01 and 10 playlist. Follow Karma Police with Fitter Happier from OK Computer, for tracks eleven and twelve. These two tracks act as a bridge between the first ten and the following ten tracks on the 01 and 10 playlist. Then continue to alternate the albums again, picking up with Faust Arp on In Rainbows, with Electioneering on OK Computer as the following track.

2. 15 Step (In Rainbows)

I'm listening to that playlist right now... anyone else hear of this?

UPDATE: Wow... I'm on track 5, and its amazing how naturally everything flows together. I don't even realize I'm listening to two different albums D: THOM YORKE IS AN ALIEN D:

This sounds awesome! I'll engineer it later when I've finished writing. Or maybe I should do it now and listen while I'm working! Good plan Batman.

Me being Batman of course. You can be Robin.

That's cool as hell. Playlisting right now :D

Oh, btw, I've finished, and I'd like to uphold my previous statement that Thom Yorke is a friggin alien. Probably an insane one at that.

After reading all 250+ comments I'm giving the original playlist a listen atm

I'm wondering though, what's the easiest way to crossfade, can I do it on plane old itunes?

itunes used to have a crossfader, dunno if it still does

Are the tracks supposed to be crossfaded? I would assume not...

A lot of the comments mentioned a 10 second crossfade so I thought I'de give it a try with it

It just makes it flow a bit better really without annoying breaks between the songs

Some of the transitions don't seem to work all that well.

Although I saw a lot of people on that site mentioned Airbag's count-in to Subterranean Homesick Alien doesn't fit with 15 Step's drums (neither in timing or time signature). But I noticed that one bar of the count-in is the same length as one bar of 15 Step. So it works, I suppose.

I think that, if there's anything to this theory at all, then there's more to it than this. And before I do anything else I'm going to go buy In Rainbows so I can rip it at 320kbps, and re-rip OK Computer at the same quality.

It seems like there's a storyline in this. I might be completely delusional about all this though.

Airbag - Guy is in a car crash, life is saved by the airbag, he is slightly delirious and feels invincible ("In an interstellar burst, I am back to save the universe").
15 Step - He gets out of the car and falls unconscious ("15 steps, and then a sheer drop") and ends up in the hospital on life support ("How come I end up where I started?").
Paranoid Android - He slowly loses his mind as his body begins to shut down? Not sure.
Bodysnatchers - He is in a vegetative state ("Blink your eyes/One for yes/Two for no"). Frustrated with how little can be done to help him, and afraid that he's going to have his plug pulled like other people in the nearby beds ("I'm alive/oh no no no/I've seen it coming").

I don't know. Am I on to something?
