I have heard rumour of this for a while...and im excited it is finally going ahead. This is an oppurtunity to make an awesome, tense, thrilling, suspenseful, hardcore action movie, and if they screw it up....i am going to refuse to watch any more hollywood made movies. A ****ing awesome novel it is..it practically has the screenplay written into it...reading it is like watching the movie in your head it is written so well.

And I am so glad Woo is off it and not going to be anywhere near this.
It would be great if Paul Greengrass(The Bourne Supremacy) was doing it, his style would fit it perfectly.....but alas, they have chosen.

Personally I'd like to see "executive order", but that ain't never going to happen. a bit sensitive topic.

The danger with rainbow six is that it's easy to turn it into a very episodic series of action scenes, you know, bank -> mansion -> theme park -> hospital -> jungle ( did I miss one )

I say, keep the action to a bare minimum and focus on the spy side of the story. and if they cast Collin Farrel as Chavez I'll kill 'em!!

looks that way, John Woo should've stayed in Hong Kong with Chow Yun-Fat and kept making cool movies with him, america has crapetized his work, and makes me sad, besides, as great as the novel was for Rainbow Six my bet is the screenplay will be shite and will leave out all the cool drama in the book

This movie definately has potential. The problem with making one of Tom Clancy's books into a movie is that they're often so complex that a lot of the story is lost in the translation. If they were able to do it, and do a good job of it, I'd love to see this, Without Remorse, and Red Storm Rising (best book ever btw) made into movies.

I think its a great idea, I just hope its executed well. The book is incredible...y...long lol. But its a good book and lots of cool details and awesomness. I just love it when their double tapped shots are so accurate that they have a bullet whole and a half. Just a great book and story.

w00t! I love the R6 series, so I'm excited to see that there will be a R6 movie. Hopefully this movie does well enough that there will be a couple sequels and maybe a Splinter Cell movie as well....

My only worry now is that there will be a bunch of CS fanboys badmouthing the movie before it's even out just because it has to do with Rainbow 6.

This will be abother Swat and i thought swat was really poor. I hope he keeps it someway realistic and doesnt go too over the top on the whole explosions thing. Rainbow Six was a class book, i dont think i've read Without Remorse, im going to have to look into that!
