Raising Stonehenge

Solving one of science/history's greatest mysteries...yeah, I'd love to be able to do that and have kids make insults like "Too much time on their hands LULZ!"

I thought we already had this discussion.
Stonehenge was build by time-travelling hitler when he went back to start the Aryan race.

Yeah, WE know that....they don't. Now shush.

That guy is awesome, one clever mother****er.

You play videogames, he solves historical mysteries.
Everyone has time on their hands.

Interesting stuff, though I suspect it's optimistic to think the original builders of Stonehenge would of been that astute tbh.

People who lived 6000 years ago weren't any less intelligent than they are today. Possibly peoples who didn't have a great diet might have been slightly deficient, but however you look at it, it took a lot of canny thinking to erect these ancient monuments. I suspect that they were actually quite sharp and ingenious thinkers given that they would have had to live in tough conditions.

exactly, same reason why cavemen back then are different than today. people can't eat if they can't learn how to make money to buy food or by other means.

Don't get me wrong getting Stonehenge up was a significant achievement, esp given how far the stones travelled to the site, but I suspect that the construction was a bit more haphazard than today, after all it wasn't like they had a precedent to work from, known engineering theory or perfectly cut blocks.

Stonehenge was a large burial site and one can only imagined how many dead bodies it took to roll the stones into place

If you think that's impressive, you should see my erections.
