I hate this thread for two reasons:

A) It sucks having to post a whole new thread for a question as simple as this, so bear with me.

B) It's an honest question, but it sure does look like I'm bragging about my specs or something. Truth be told, my brother and I are trying to test framerates, and it would be mighty helpful to be able to raise the cap.

-------

Now, I need to know whether the cap can be raised above 292 frames per sec. I'm running on a 9800 pro, low settings (for test purposes), and a 1024x768 res. Is there any console command to remove or raise the cap?

Have you tried typing developer 1 into the console? This is the only way I know of to remove a frame cap, if it won't go higher there is a good chance thats as high as your FPS can get on your hardware, not just a cap on the cl_showfps 1 command.

I take it you already set your max_fps or fps_max (whichever it is) to 999?

Thanks to all three of you, that was a quick and helpful response. It worked, I just hadn't used the fps_max command before.
