ok, i have my motherboard (intel d865glc) running my 2 512Mb DDR PC3200 400Mhz running in dual channel, i dont know, but i think something is wrong, both my memory sticks are identical, and it says on the label they are 400Mhz, but when i opened 3dmark03, i saw that they are running at 320Mhz!!! i mean, WTF??? is that supposed to happen? i might get the technician to have a look at it, anyone know what might be wrong?

They are supposed to be running at 200 MHz.

Can you take a screenshot of that screen (using PrtScn and paste in paint) and attach the screenshot? Something sound weird.

[Edit]: nvm

[Edit 2]: What frequency does your bios say your RAM is running at?

just put the attachment there at the first post, you mean each should be running at 200Mhz? not 320???

it says:

Slot 1: 512MB DDR (400Mhz)
Slot 2: 512MB DDR (400Mhz)

that is shown at the first page of the BIOS, under the whole general system info thing

There should be an Advanced tab and then you should select Advanced Chipset features. (or something similar to that). That is where you will find your memory frequency (unless you have a computer made by Dell, HP, Compaq, etc).

oh yeh, it says there it is set to automatic, i already tried switching it to 400, but when i do and reboot, my motherboard starts to beep and nothing appears on screen, the i have to remove one of the sticks so it goes back to automatic...

You don't want to set it to 400. You want to set it to 200. DDR means that for every one tick, it will send two pieces of info. Setting it to 400 is the equivalent of DDR 800 RAM.

ok, let me just try and do that and see what shows in 3dmark, be right back

ok when i entered the bios and saw the options, i had 260, 320 or 400 memory frequency, i left on auto cuz i really dont wanna mess up my pc, there was no 200 option

That makes sense now. Your memory is running at 166 MHz (DDR = 333). Does your motherboard support DDR400 memory (or does it need a bios update)?

it does support DDR400, its the D865GLC, it says on the box it does, already updated my bios

hmmmm...thats unusual.

Check your motherboard manual and make sure you don't have to switch a jumper to enable DDR 400.

If that doesn't solve your problem, take out one stick of RAM (put it in anti-static bag, don't want to accidently fry it) and see what the one stick runs at. If that solves your problem, try putting the second RAM stick in another RAM slot.

i'm getting a Radeon 9800pro this monday, i'll just show it to the technician when he installs the radeon, thx for all the info Blahblahblah!!!
