i bought a second stick of ram today, but then i remembered that one of my ram slots is broken. So when I had both sticks in my computer would restart and wow would crash. I know its one of the ram slots that is close to the other. the far right one works. is there a way to run it where i can have one stick in the far right slot and another stick in the other working slot? if this is a confusing description of my problem just ask a question and i will answer. thank you for the help!

If I have this right, your asking if ram sticks have to be put into slots in some sort of order. You think that the first stick goes into the left slot, the second into the next one along, the third next to that. Because thats not the case, its perfectly alright to have one stick in the far left slot and a second stick in the far right slot.

Or have I got your question wrong?

Check the motherboard manual for the ram configurations. If it is dual channel memory, then you will most probably need to be careful on what slots you use. If its single channel memory then its just down to how the motherboard wants it. You might get away with having it in slots 1 and 3 but it might specify that you use the slots in order. Best to check the motherboard manual.
