man i dont know but when i said on another thread, that my ram is running at 333Mhz and not 400Mhz as it is supposed to be, i took my pc to the store and they said that my mobo (intel d865glc) automatically chooses the best speed for the moment, cuz intel is most of the time automatic and chooses everything for you, but then why did i pay more money for something that i'm not using??? or if i bought a 333Mhz ram, would my mobo set it to 266???

My mobo supports DDR400 and my ram is exactly that. Also, the guy said that the mobo sets the ram speed to what it need at the moment, but i don't think it can switch to 400 while in some game or something without rebooting...

Yes, if that is the only supported speed. If the board does not support 333 then the memory will downclock to the speed that the board uses.
If the board supports 333 or 400 then it will run your memory at 333. It's the lowest common denominator.

then how do i get it to run at 400? if i can't, it would be smarter if i bought a 333mhz?

the thing is, my board supports all speeds, 266, 333 and 400! then why doesnt it set to 266?

check the specs on your mobo very carefully for memory speeds and cpu bus speeds.
you may just need a bios upgrade / or a manual adjustment of settings in bios.
however if your mobo dont support what you have, you still have good memory that will keep you up to date when you upgrade your mobo.

It could be a divider that is making your memory run at that speed. A divider sets your Memory to run at a certain ratio to your FSB. Check your bios.
Is your memory really running low? It should run at the full 200MHz if it's DDR400.
By the way, DDR266 runs at 133MHz, DDR333 runs at 166MHz.

in my BIOS, is it the External Memory Speed or something? if it is, it says it's at 320Mhz... don't know tho, in 3Dmark03 i get this:

it can't be malfunction of the sticks, cuz in the BIOS, where it says which sticks are in whick slots, it says: 512MB (DDR400)

I just bought that same exact motherboard. But my ram is only 266mhz, I don't have to worry I guess. But it does say ddr400 right on the front of the box.
