hmm if u got 2 slots for ram how can u get 4gigs or more than 1024??? ive only seen 512 been sold in stores.
And how can i tell which ram i got?? i know i got kingston ddr but look at the ram list at this site http://www.laumar.com/parts.htm

Wel there are 1gb sticks, but its better to have 2 512 sticks. My old mobo has 2 ddr 400 ram slots and it says maximum of like 4gb. I guess its the max you can overclock it too? Not sure. Too ffind out hom much ram you have go to the start button, then click run. type dxdiag. On the first page of dxdiag it tells you how much ram you got

Oh, i do have a question too though about ram. Im getting a mobo that supports dual channel 400mhz ram. Im getting a 2800+ cpu which has 333mhz fsb. Can i run the memory faster than the fsb? Someone told me i couldnt. Also, about dual channel, im not sure what it is but if i have 2 512 sticks in my mobo will it take advantage for the dual channel capabilities?

Yeah you can run the Mem. Higher then it, but it will be like a 10% perf. increase if its in sync with the FSB.

Yep, if you have two 512 sticks you can run in dual channel.
