As I eat my ramen noodle's for the third time today.....i wonder if these things are gonna kill me. They're so cheap! and good! I am just basically inhaling cheap grain coated in a boiled sodium solution?

Their tasty!

Cheap.. addictive.. deadly... Horrible combination :(
But man, they're tastey.

Yeah they're great. 33 cents a pack, easy to make, and tastes great.

i got em on sale at my local supermarket for 20 for two bucks
Hellllllllloooooo new videocard.........goodbye healthy intestines!

yep i eat one a night... those bastards have something up their sleeves...i know it

I used to eat a pack of that stuff every night before I went to sleep, for lack of better snacks. Once I went to Yellowstone Nat'l Park with my geography class, and we were supposed to eat out for dinner but I went around with the cheap group, so we stopped by Walmart and bought the cup Ramen Noodles, a cheap mug to boil water in, and picked up some free sporks at a fast food restaurant (well, one person bought something since you can't just walk in and take free sporks). :D Gosh, those were good times....

There are a countless amount of grocery stores in Manhattan that sell noodles already prepared with hot water, forks, and everything.

So goddamn convenient and cheap.

Eating it dry is good. No cooking. Just crush, put flavoring, shake, and eat!

Yeah, they're great. See how much you like them after they're all you eat for a month.

I have, at a conservative estimate, eaten about a billion of those things. I've stopped somewhat since they have the nutritional balance of eating oatmeal all day.

Even though it is a newcomer, it is unclear by whom, when or where "ramen" was introduced to Japan. The name "Ramen" itself is a topic of debate. The most traditional hypothesis, one in an encyclopedia, claims that "Ramen" came from "拉麺" (la mian) and means "hand stretched noodle". A second hypothesis claims that "老麺" (lao mian) was the proper Chinese character. A third hypothesis from Sapporo claims that it was only called "Mian" (麺 ). A Chinese cook who made Mian answered "La." (了 ) (literally okay) to an order and it was written down as "Ramen" in the menu. Some claim that ramen was really "Liu mian" (柳麺 ) (literally Mr. Liu's noodle) and the name was taken from a cook named Liu in Tokyo. A fifth version claims that it was "鹵麺" (Lumian) and a Lumian is a noodle with a thick starchy sauce. Since the name "Ramen" became popular only in the 1960s when instant ramen was invented, it is also claimed that the name "Ramen" was popularized by the "instant ramen".

Yea...and the brand names and stuff...

That is the most bizarre thing I've ever heard.

I like Ramen too. But I often get canker sores because of the high sodium :(

It's like eating crackers with Ramen flavoring.

It's pretty decent actually.

Because there are lots of different kinds of noodles, like spaghetti and macaroni. Ramen are the instant japanese style noodles. So there.

I don't really like noodles anymore. Not after I had some at a chinese once and spent the rest of the day being uncontrollably sick in the streets of York. That kind of experience puts you off a lil'

edit: I was only around 6 or something

I work at a place that supplies food and clothing to prisoners, and we go through CASES of the stuff each day. Almost every order has ramen noodles in it.

so many people talk about how tasty the dry ramen is... is it really any good? I like cooked ramen fine.

I dunno what these are but im guessing they're like Mr. Noodles, those are good, chicken is atleast

I love cup noodles, I use to eat them every day, my record are 2 cups strait, waht about you ?

Being tight financially has forced me and my mum to eat ramen.. alot of ramen.... and it never gets old. From the looks of this thread, it looks like we get it the cheapest, 12 for a dollar :E

There's a nice Ramen bar in the basement of Harvey Nicks in London.. it sure ain't cheap :)

Ramen is hella nasty, I would take Prime Rib over Ramen any day.

I believe most people would, but most people couldnt afford a 10 dollar piece of meat every day. If you can, SMILE! :cheese:
