Heh, I thought you were talking about things like whisky.

A malt drink is just something made from some kind of grain I think, I haven't had any in very long time but as far as I remember it tastes alright, and can be quite relaxing. Not sure what its like with hot chocolate, I noticed that Cadburys have brought out a new range with different types of hot chocolate.

Just incase anyone is interested in the begginings of beer:
http://www.alabev.com/history.htm

It gives you a new respect for ancient people. :E

I think malt beer was the earliest form of beer but they don't mention it in there unfortunately.

I think hes talking about about those drinks which you add to hot water/milk though. They come in a powder form. The only brand I know of is Horlicks.

Ohhh I see. I never heard of this stuff before then. Too bad, beer is always interesting to talk about. :P

yeah its like an instand hot chocolate drink that u just add boiling water... but like u guys I just associated malt with whiskey or something lol. Had some earlier and it tases kind of sickly, Dont think i'll be drinkin much more of it.

MMMmm chocolate malts are good... I get them at this local burger stand and from what I can tell, they are a thicker chocolate shake.

You can get Milo in the UK. I've only seen it at the bigger Sainsburys though.

I thought we was gonna be talking about malt liquor.... like Olde English 40's n shiznit... word.

Tastes like Malteasers, really really nice. :P

(Malteasers = balls of that malty stuff covered in chocolate... no, not Chefs chocolate malty balls)

You can also get Milo in the Caribbean and in the US (believe it or not).

I think Ovaltine is also a malted beverage as well no?

yes malt is a drink created whit some clas of grain

in my country is famous and I didnt know that is on sell in northamerica

what is the company of the malt you drink?

^^^
I used to drink Milo when I lived in your neighbor to the north, Trinidad (that's where I was born).

We have it over here, I thought it was a NZ thing. I eat it raw :)

I keep meaning to buy some. Like I said, I haven't had it in ages but its really nice.

I think NZ makes Bournvita, which is like Milo but less chocolatey and more... gravelly.

Not kidding.

ALL MILO FANS POST YOUR FORMULAE!

Mine's probably 40% Milo to 60% milk. I eat the brown goop it turns into with a spoon. Then get hyper.

Yup, nothin beats it. Also use the same cup of milk for like 3 servings of 5-6 teaspoons each consecutively then drink it :D

Okay, as well as that: Normal green-tin Milo, or that stuff in the brown tins? Make your choice...

Brown tins are "malt" milo

green tin all the way

I pretty much do the same as you brian...

Well I couldn't resist...I went out and bought some. I bought Ovaltine, and some Cadbury's chocolate powder with Malt in it. The Cadbury one tastes just like Malteasers really, but the Ovaltine (Which is just malt) tastes quite sweet and...weird. I dunno, I tried eating it dry and it wasnt like chocolate power, it kind of stuck together and I could crunch it almost.

Green tin all the way, there's also Milo in cans now, and Milo bars...
