Who else agrees that razortrains are far more terrifying than your standard train?
In fact they are the most terrifying thing in Half-Life 2, beating even the poison zombie with headcrabs.
Just for clarity, they are the slim combine trains which carry the imprisoned humans to and from the Citadel and other places, which look a bit like ex-soviet trains(They are called razortrains, I saw it in the GCF file)

They even have their own scary horn blast, saw that in a wave file.

You think trains are the scariest things in the game..? Idk how the hell you lived through the rest of the game then..

Nah, I found the milk carton the most terrifying enemy in the game.

I think I'm just scared of big vehicles generally...
They are inanimate monsters.

Except the kirov airship of course. That has a face on, so it is quite....friendly.

I must say the most terrorfying in hl2 is that Dogs ball is named Frank...scary shit

I hate those Kirovs...get 10 and you win the game, especially when they gain ranks. But dman are they slow.(Not in HL2 in case youre curious)

Red Alert 2?

Agreed. Just look so weird.

IMHO, the scariest enemies in the game were the "Resistance"; those apparently homeless vagrants who chased me relentlessly through the later parts of the game;Their blood-curdling cries of "Follow Freeman!" and "Aiiie!" sent my hear racing every time, that's for damn sure.

I mean, most of the bad guys give up pursuit after a while, but those things were terrifying- they followed me through holes in the floor, and their numbers seemed limitless.

Bloody hell, I can still hear them! :O

Interesting fact: In one of Marc Laidlaw's early Train Intro concepts, a Razor Train drives into a "somthing that resembles the old Gargantua" and ploughs straight into it, slicing it into two. If they'd put that into the HL2 intro, then I'd have been scared off "the Nova Prospekt Express"...

Yeah, but the train you ride in on isn't a Razor Train; A Razor Train simply transports the pods that they keep humans and stalkers in, in-between Nova Prospekt and the Citadel.

[edit]: Oh wait, was that a seperate train you were supposed to see out the window? I honestly can't remember. :p

Quick, follow Freeman!

*pitter patter pitter patter*

Yes, however I do admit that Laidlaw didn't specifically call it a "Razor Train", just that the front of it is protected by "A hugh deadly variant of a cow catcher" which is pretty much what the razor train is...

I remember the first time i played chicken with the razortrain on the bridge....ughhhh

I saw the train coming and was all like HOLY SHIT!. I did a U turn and tried to outrun it , but the goddamn thing caught me :(

Yeah that's the kind of thing I mean. Playing chicken with a normal train, no problems. But razortrains, forget it.

Oh yeah I hate the resistance members too. I wish there was a command for "don't follow freeman". It's hard to shake them off. And it's especially bad when you get a grenade and they block off your exits. :x

Kirov Reporting.

Brings back good memories. :)

They have big trucks that look like those trains in I, Robot. They have the same purpose too. :O

I am thinking that HL2 and I, Robot got that from the same artwork or something.

And yes, they are scary :X

Am I the only one who is confused? What the hell is "chicken"?

ROFL

That is so siggable. Someone please take it.

Chicken is a game. Two people go at eachother in usually fast vehicles, and the first person to steer off (to avoid collision) is the chicken. The loser.

Ohh man, it's hard to type when you are laughing uncontrollably.

One thing about them that had an effect on me in the game was on the Episode/Chapter "Highway 17" when you come to the bridge with the traintrack on it and you need to unlock the force field to cross it, well when you finally do and begin to cross it the "Razortrain" starts comming strait for you for you, at the same time thinking thats a weird looking train, but that wasn't the freaky part it was at the end of the game and your in the citedel on the monorail/ski lift thing and I see the "razortrain" pass and it was trippy discovering that they were the combine trains.

Razor trains are really freaky. Freakier than the poison zombies AND fast zombies. They're huge, tall, and thin with that one white eye at the top. They just seemed cold and fast and powerful and stuff. They didn't make me piss-my-pants scared (nothing really did unfortunately) but these things were the creepiest.

Kleiner is scary too. Have you seen the way he walks? I creeps me out.

So are toilets. They can kill you in one hit. Pork is weird in a scary kind of way, but that wasn't in HL2.
