Absolutely worth the read, but that was written almost three years ago by now... that was Gamespot's big pre-release article for Half-Life 2. It's ancient but time well spent perusing if you haven't already.

I only skimmed through it, but it's intense stuff. Makes me respect Valve even more.

And it's pretty appropriate that I'd read this right after I finished another playthrough of HL2.
