hi all

lets say i want to make a pole 10 meter how do i
count in hammer?

?

the general accepted scale is 1 unit = 1 inch. But there's debate because HL2 Gordon was 32 inches wide (bounding box) making him very chubby. I always believed that the 32 units was including a buffer for the area around his arms and guns. Anyways HL2 uses the same scale, but just go with what looks right in the game.

You can't scale it directly for reasons having to do with how people perceive size visually: noteably, its screwed up in 3d games.

If you look at something in a game with no comparison point, it may seem fine. Place another character beside it and it will seem huge. Try this with any useable door in Half-Life 2. They look fine when you're alone, they look about 10 feet tall when another character stands beside them.

So forget about absolute scale from real life. It's not that easy. Just go with what looks right.
