Half life 3 is coming out for free actually. however, you will have to make in game purchases to get things such as weapons, the ability to move, and alex nudes.

I was exaggerating.

But that is not to say that Half-Life 3 (if it hypothetically releases) can't be a massive disappointment, time doesn't always mean a better product. That's what I meant.
