If you want to get technical, I'd say the best program (suite) would be Visual Studio 6. But that's a cheating, a bit.

I hate KaZaA for obvious reasons and Norton Internet Security for those damned popups that say "OMG A PROGRAM CALLED STEAM IS TRYING TO ACCESS THE INTORNET OH NOES!!!"

My favorite program is probably notepad since it's nice and simple and it never crashes on me.
