I'm pretty starved for DS content at the moment, but I've come into a small amount of money and decided to buy a game or two.

The only problem is, the game I really wanted, Advance Wars: Dual Strike, is either discontinued or not in stock at every store in my city. So needless to say I'm kind of mad at EB, Best Buy, and Futureshop.

Anyway, I'm just wondering what games everyone else likes. However, I've ruled out the following:
- any game based around mini-games
- any Mario game that doesn't take the form of an RPG
- any non-innovative platformer
- no more damn brain-training games (I bought two so far D: )
- Castlevania games (played my friend's copy way too much, so that series is overplayed for me right now)
- no Metroid Prime: Hunters, played it and found it to be... lacking.

I was thinking maybe Rocket Slime or Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time. Any suggestions?

Already played it through a few months back, it was decent, thanks though :p

I guess you won't like Phoenix Wright then?

Lunar Knights just came out try that.

If you didn't live so far away I would happily send you my copy of Advance Wars. I can't get into it.

Hmm... I'm currently looking at Starfox Command. Looks like it could be a valid purchase. Other than that, Mario Kart DS is one of the best games I've ever played and.. as I can't spot "Puzzlers" on your no-go list, Meteos is like Tetris but almost better. :E

Actually, Phoenix Wright might work - while it does involve mini-games, it apparently has a very good and very funny narrative, which games like WarioWare completely lack.

Lunar Knights sounds really cool, and so do Starfox and Meteos.

In fact, I might go and make a purchase right now. Keep 'em coming though, I'll buy more :p

Trauma Center, Phoenix Wright and Clubhouse Games are all pretty good.

You should be able to find advance wars, but if you cant, I would suggest "Age of Empires: Age of Kings." Its a perfect blend of the old age of empires with the advance wars style of gameplay. Most people dont believe me, but its tons of fun.

EDIT: Funny observation, but I've seen roughly 6 "reccomend me a DS game" posts on this forum, yet almost no "recomend me a PSP game" post.

yet almost no "recomend me a PSP game" post.
You can get MGS Portable Ops, GTA Liberty City stories, or Vice city stories. Other than those games, there aren't really any psp titles worth speaking of.

Heh.

Well, I went there and picked up Elite Beat Agents, which, after playing for a good five minutes, is pure awesome. It's actually really funny too :D

I may pick up Phoenix Wright and Advance Wars at a future date, when some stores actually carry the damn titles.

[edit] It's a used copy of Elite Beat Agents - anyone know if there's a way to start over completely?

[edit2] This game is legitimately hilarious. I have lol'd twice at it, and I've only done one song plus the training.

I'm getting Elite Beat Agents the moment it is out over here. I can't wait. And I've decided I'm getting Starfox Command tomorrow. I need a new DS game for my half term holiday.

My mate imported FF3 from the US and says it's the most infuriatingly ambiguous game he has ever played. One of those titles where you wander around for ages wondering what to do and it turns out to be stupid.

Starfox is the most fun game ever. It rules on Wifi if you even find someone.

ELITE. BEAT. AGENTS.

OSU. TAKATE. OUENDAN.

PHOENIX. WRIGHT. ACE. ATTORNEY. And/or. JUSTICE. FOR. ALL.

ADVANCE. WARS. DUAL. STRIKE.

These are what I have and what I consider essential purposes. I also own Harvest Moon DS, and I love it, but it's not for everbody.

To reset Elite Beat Agents data, hit all buttons at once, i think. Check the gamefaq boards, there's a billion threads on it.

Metroid Prime Hunters (sci-fi FPS), Trauma Center: Under the Knife (Japanese surgical simulation) and Hotel Dusk:Room 215 (interesting adventure game).

Update: Stop suggesting Elite Beat Agents already, I bought it! It ****ing rocks. And thanks Jintor, I got the data cleared :D

I'll keep looking for Advance Wars and Phoenix Wright... in the meantime, isn't Osu! Takate! Ouendan! just the Japanese version of EBA?

Yes. But it has different songs, different characters and different mini games. They're like sequels to one another.

I cannot stress the ELITE BEAT AGENTS nearly enough. Because they're AWESOME.

Phoenix Wright: Justice for All is being extremely fun. Especially now that I'm using my head, not my faq reading skillz... :O

Elite Beat Agents truly is amazing. It's almost as fun as Guitar Hero (which is a "very" on the fun scale), and I enjoy it more than DDR.

Bah, my left shoulder button is b0rked now from hitting it too hard when I want Phoenix to yell OBJECTION!. Damnit. Should've used the microphone thingy.

Last game I bought was Mega Man ZX, a good game if you are into Mega Man, but nothing more. Was over pretty quick. Phoenix Wright is great, and I'm getting Justice for All when it is released over here :)

Been thinking of Elite Beat Angels, but don't know really... if only they had demos over Wi-Fi :(

Other than that, got Metroid Prime (the 2D games are beteter), Mario Kart DS(great!), Resident Evil Rebirth (great if you want some zombie action, not that scary anymore because of it's age).

IIiiIiITTttTT'S WOoOOROooRRTHHHhhH EeeeEeEETTtTTT.

I heard they had demos at Targets or something. I'm not sure though, I'm not in the states, nor have i heard this from anywhere not a random internet forum.

Find a friend and d/l a demo! :O

Got StarFox today and I'm addicted. It's frickin awesome. :E I love it oh so much. What with this, Mario Kart and Metroid, my DS online gaming is all set.
