Six Feet Under is one of the best shows ever made. Although it does get a little pretentious here and there. Still, even with those flaws its leaps and bounds ahead of anything else.

I can't emphasise this enough: BATTLESTAR GALACTICA (the new one)
Also, if you can get it, get Monkey Dust. It's possibly the darkest animated comedy ever. I'm sure anyone else who's seen it would agree.

24 is overrated imo.
