As I've been buying and having my PCs built (first by a company, later by myself) for a while now, I've started to form a collection of completely obsolete PC components. Whilst these spare parts have occasionally saved me a lot of hassle for their simple diagnostic abilities (No video? Swap the card in for an oldie and see if it works) a lot of stuff simply isn't useful. Apart from the space-drain this causes, i'm being prompted into action by my parents being likely to move in the near future. It'll cost them to take old crap of mine away with them, and will just be clutter in their new house, which I don't really want. I'm probably going to hand down this current machine to my parents when I upgrade soon, so their clunky 1.2 Celeron will have to go too :P

The trouble is, I have no idea what to do with most of this stuff. Most of it is completely worthless now, and I don't have any particular urge to construct a low-spec PC for any purpose. I'd really rather not dump it all in a landfill... Can it be recycled, or is there the chance that someone out there wants this crap?

[First PC. Some of this stuff has been lying around so long it may not even work]
- Pentium 3 450MHz + Heatsink and Fan
- Creative 16MB Voodoo Banshee
- Creative Sound Blast Live! Value
- 56k Modem
- The Craptasm of a case that it came in (not very good ventilation, looks ugly, but possibly good for something)
- Whatever PSU came with it at the time (If not already dumped)
- Dirty Dirty Keyboard
- Dirty Dirty Ball-driven Mouse

[Second PC.]
- AMD Athlon Thunderbird 900MHz
- MSI Motherboard for the above (Either may have been damaged by me trying to free the Heatsink / Fan)
- 10/100 Network Card (My latest PC had onboard LAN)
- 64mb GeForce2 MX

[Dead Stuff]
- ASUS Motherboard (for the TBird, the peripheral connectors died)
- 56k Modem (though I was never 100% convinced that it WAS damaged)
- No-brand 300W PSU
- 16x? Slot-loading DVD Drive
- 15" ADI Monitor (Can't remember if we already dumped this one)

[Mum's PC - I'll get rid of it when I get a new PC]
- 1.2Ghz Celeron, Heat Sink And Fan
- Motherboard for the above (lacks AGP. On-board Video, )
- 512MB PC133 Ram (Can't remember what I did with 128mb that were in there - before I put this in there...)
- Tiny 150W PSU
- 10/100 Network Card

- And Shitloads of cables for all of the above.
- And all the other little bits and pieces I've also forgotten.

Usually there are charities which will take PC's off you. Maybe theres one in your area?
