I'm in the RA3 Beta at Fileplanet (subscribers only ).
When I saw the media I was expecting a cartoony game that follows no footsteps to the original RA series but I was wrong.
It's really good, it's probably the best C&C I've played. The graphics are awesome although it was a little slow all on highest. I found a little issue picking out my units from the very lush city environments though. The explosives are very impressive.
I was Soviets and the other guy was Allies. Instead of Ore, you have to basically harvest off a Well (like another structure) instead of a field. They slowly run out through the game. There are Oil Refinarys too, plus Observation Posts and Hospitals you can capture.
The maps are great, very well made in the true C&C scheme of making big choke points between the sides.
With Air, Sea and Land you are overwhelmed with possible units and tactics, every unit has an awesome way of attacking too. I stuck with land mostly and had lots of Air power (8x Kirov Airships, which destroyed the enemies base, a very easy win after a hugely intense land battle).
So far, I love it. It is seeming to be a great successor in the RA series!
