I found the Scrin to be powerful in fire power, but they can't take a pounding at all, once the mammoth tanks are out, its game over for the scrin forces.

NOD & Scrin are more evenly matched.
 
Planetary assault carriers always pwn my mammoths, bulldogs and APCs.
 
I remember mammoths were way overpowered when cnc3 came out, like one mammoth could kill a scrin
tripod thingie and that giant nod walker and still have 50% of his health, while still much cheaper then
those 2.
But they nerfed the mammoth's pretty good. In Kane's wrath or whatever in the new game
mode, the scrin carriers and artillery ships pwn everything if you let the CPU handle the fights.

In normal fights the carriers and artillery ships are still the coolest ,especially because they fly and thus
choke points mean shit to them.
 
Mammoths were useless in KW until the patch, not sure how it is now.
 
But whyyyyyyyyyyy? Jesus christ you're a cruel bastard.

EA has to go and f*ck over people with single core processors by doing something in the latest patch.

My game ran perfectly fine before the 1.03 update and luckily, I'm not alone... there's a few 18+ page topics on this same problem on their beta support forums. :|

I've never even played the BETA yet.
I downloaded the client, logged in... it autoupdated and now it doesn't even start.

I don't recall BETAs ever being this wonky, but then again, that's the EA way to do BETAs.

It's sad to see all the fail RA3 has. The menu system and Gamespy are just WOW in terms of shittyness. I cannot physically bring myself to play C&C3 online because it's such a bad system and RA3 is just as bad. WTF were they thinking?

That's because most betas aren't really betas... They're basically just pre-release copies.

True beta's are very wonky and you've just gotten too used to the nice public betas.

Plus, make sure you report the bug if you want to see it get fixed. If the game gets released and you can't play, don't just bitch because you actually had a chance to do something about it. The point of the beta is to find issues like this. So, go report it and hopefully EA will fix it in time for the final release.
 
Already made a post on the forums... hopefully they actually listen.

edit : They're going to be releasing 1.04 soon, supposedly fixes my problem.
I'll check back in the morning and dl it before I go to work.

I don't know what game you're playing, but it must have been made by gremlins. I'm having a ****ing blast.

Admittedly the network/internet menu system is shitty atm. Hopefully they friggin' fix that.
 
It's just depressing that after years of constant suggestion to them for regional ****ing lobbies we still don't have any. The lobby1,2,3 system is completely and utterly retarded.
 
Point. I have no idea who I'm playing with, and where from.
 
Sweet, it's the morning and they still don't have the 30mb patch in their autoupdate system and the servers apparently aren't updated yet so anyone who downloads the full 800+mb patch is f*cked until they update the main servers.
Are EA betas really this much of a pain in the ass? BF Heroes wasn't this bad with patches... oh wait, that last patch broke the game's launcher, nvm.
 
Oh, that's why it wasn't showing up. I saw that 1.04 had been released, but it wasn't turning up in the autoupdater.

If I can actually play, anyone wanna mess around with the game? I fear going online on a random server and getting my ass beat. ;(

Problems galore! It's in my firewall exceptions list and everything, already posted it on their forums... hopefully it's easily fixable.

EDIT: I had an error in the log in screen, but not this one.
I solved it by just switching the ip address it showed in options-nework.
 
Game randomly decided to work for me, yay.
Runs like ass, holy hell... definitely needs a crazy amount of optimizing.
Animations are wonky, path finding is horrible.

It's fun though, I love the look.
 
What's your system specs? I runs fine for me, except I keep forgetting to activate antialiasing.

Pathfinding is horrible though.
 
AMD Athlon 2800+ 2.04ghz (reaaaally need to upgrade this)
7600GS 512mb
2gb ram

Runs fine with medium settings and some things on high, but if I put all on high or ultra it's unplayable. :(
Whereas in CNC3 I could play on ultra without a hitch.

I honestly believe that the game should release maybe Q1 2009, needs alot more than a couple of months to fix and optimize it.
 
But that'd spoil all that Red October advertising! EA would never do that. :3

Everything runs fine on high, although I haven't AA'd it yet.
