That shot looks gorgeous.

I have to say, this is the first time I've ever really been interested in the Wild West. It helps that I also have XBL Gold for no discernable reason.
 
They were doing a call in questions answered thing on Kotaku regarding red dead redemption.

Audio isn't uploaded yet... but a few questions got asked.

There was a "no comment" response in regards to poker in multiplayer.

no comment of course means "no"... not a secret "yes" that some people believe it to mean. They simply don't want negativity out there.

I say bullshit to that!

I'm just hope more people come out of the woodwork to play multiplayer with us on hl2.net. Seems the list is so infinitely small compared to the GTA IV list.

And all the people on PS3 make me a sad cow.


There is a rumor going on that RDR will be delayed to parts of Europe due to the Ash Cloud. if that is so, this sucks ash for you guys and I feel for you.

Gamestop Sweden for example has a release date of the 28th of May now.

Awww... that's sweet. May want to wait and see how satisfying the multiplayer lassoing is though. Because I guarantee it won't be a crippling affair. I'll be able to break free!

Man, I just want a touch... I just want a feel. Anything to get me going!

I always get this way when I anticipate new games... I can't think of anything else but them much of the time, and I get tunnel vision. I'm going to work in 10 hours but all I'll think about while I'm driving is how it'll be the last two work days before Red Dead Redemption next week.

And before you say it, I'm not over hyped... my hype is simply about playing the game, not what the gameplay experience will be.

I really miss feeling like that about things. I don't know if there's anything I feel that way about any more. It was fun to spend most of the day at school, day-dreaming about a new game.

Come to think of it, I should be glad that it's over. It was not important at all. Where are those games now? Meanwhile, my education suffered!

Still, I need a passion, don't I? I'll have to think about this. It can be highly motivating when it comes to making money.

People who work at game warehouses or stores might be able to swipe it early. I have a friend who's going to get it early, too.

Yeah, I listened to the whole thing earlier. Wasn't a whole lot of interesting stuff in there besides knowing we could lasso in multiplayer.

And knowing there wouldn't be any
driving the cars which isn't a big deal for me... it's the wild west and I don't want to drive cars. I want to ride a horse. besides, driving a car in the countryside would be a bumpy ass slow ride anyway.

I mean, it was all interesting, there just weren't any real revelations or anything.

Yeh, just the lassoing really. But they have some great stories though. The one about the boar, the hunter and the cliff was awesome.

My GTA SA came in a full color hardback book. Is that what it is?

I think it's just a flip open cover. My book had a cover that slid over top to protect it.


I don't buy console games so I didn't know what a "book case" was. Never mind. I remember seeing it now on CoD before.

I was sitting on my bed, listening to the ****ing podcast going... wow sweet... but man, wouldn't it suck if they were like... misspeaking, and talking about lassoing in single player or something, even though the guy CLEARLY said multilayer and OTHER PLAYERS? Man wouldn't that be BULLSHIT if they made a simple mistake like that?

Man that actually pisses me off. I knew I wasn't just hyping myself up when I heard that. It came right from the mouth of rockstar. I was thinking... ****ing sweet! Now Darkside doesn't have to ****ing kill everybody with a miserable gun, he can instead do the nonviolent thing and just rope us from behind. But no... they misspoke. Honestly though, how do you misspeak about a question asking if you are able to lasso OTHER PLAYERS in MULTIPLAYER?


This dude actually hung himself after hearing the bad news. Or at least he might, when he does hear about it.

For the people who cba to listen to the whole podcast:

Highlights:
-A boar charges the player and a hunter appears to be going after the boar that the player sees and apparenty the boar or hunter accidentally runs off a cliff, couldn't really understand that.
-Player's horse dies once by player shooting it once, second time the horse was killed by wolf's, player was then stuck without horse and a man with a horse came by and he shot him in the back. However, his foot got stuck in the stirup and the gunshot scared the horse so the horse ran off with the dead man stuck on it.
-Marston can whistle if he is horseless and a new horse will appear for them, there is a limit though.
-You can bond with your horse, allowing for your horse to be more reliable and come quicker to a whistle.
-Rockstar say no airplanes, "planes are overrated" Cars will be in game.
-There is a lot in the storyline reflecting to American and human culture, traditional Rockstar type message and satire will be present. "Won't be disappointed"
-The research of RDR consisted of everything including on locations pictures. A research department was responsible.
-"MP has a very very deep experience system"
-Rockstar says they tried to be historically accurate, however some freedoms were used to create a Spaghetti Western feel. But "more in line with historical west"
-End to end of word on horsetails on a fast horse 15-20 minutes. (Not sure if they mean one section or the entire map)
-Fast travel mentioned again, you can go to most locations you've visited.
-Currently no plans for PC port.
-Performance wise "exactly the same games"
-No dual wielding, no plans yet for future DLC allowing dual wielding.
-'Outlaws to the End' DLC will include online and system link co-op.
-Multiplayer will be bigger and more unique then previous Rockstar games.
-West Elizabeth is smaller but it is much more full compared to the vast plains of the other regions.
-A economy/trade system was asked about for MP but received a silence and "No comment"
-Poker for MP was asked by some lunatic and received, "No comment"
-Missions are replayable. Courtesy of Lambo3500
