I just bought Half-Life 2 on eBay used I installed the game, and went to register it on Steam. I entered the code and it told me it was already used, well, I knew that was a possibility from buying the game used. I don't know what to do. Do you guys know what to do?

Facepalm for about 5 minutes and then go buy the game on Steam.

Actually, I still have a copy of HL2 on steam I could gift you, but I don't know you.

Well your problem is that you bought a PC game used.

Hm.. well, you could probably take over the guy's account using the CD-key through Steam support by claiming you need it restored, but that'd be kind of a dick move.

You can get Half Life 2, assured quality, for $10 on Steam, or the Orange Box which has HL2, Ep1, Ep2, Portal, and TF2, for $30.

Well it is against the EULA rules to sell Steam accounts, the CD key with the copy you bought is registered to another account. It can only be removed from the previous account for a charge. The ebay seller should have done this but didn't and scammed you it seems.

So you actually only have a game disc which is of no value as that can be downloaded from Steam. Buying directly from Steam is much better, get your money back.

Selling a game you can't play to someone is a dick move. I'd blackmark the seller on eBay, or whatever you do.
