Release date announcement?

so has the game had a release date set? HLradio did that show last night but no one seems to have posted anything regarding its results.

edit: wow. the post about a possible release date coincides with my 666 post....that's messed up.
 
They said Valve have finished the game and now Vivendi have to get it all ready for a release.

Until Valve say otherwise, i'll believe that 100% :D
 
Nothing spectacularly new. It's still officially "summer" but a realistic estimate would be somewhere between summer and fall.. or something.

I'm getting tierd of this, so is my girlfriend. She have heard about HL2 since we got togeather in november (well, even before that to, since we dated a while and were friends before that). I mean, I have talked about HL2 a loong time!

Release the game and save my gf from all this nagging... =)
Well, I hope Valve haven't changed about the summer release. Cause if they do my confidence in Valve will hit rock bottom...
 
Erm, we've known the game was finished since before E3!!! Doesn't mean they've stopped testing it though!!

Funny, it might turn out that "Blair" guy that everyone was hating was right. Remember when he said "September 30th 2004 HL2 will be released, not before" and he practically got hated into next week? Doesn't seem like he's going to be TOO far wrong :(

I heard that the pub will be open at 11am. I've already ordered my place at the bar.

haha Over at the Half-Life Source forums, there's quite a flame war started. Everyone is saying that Vivendi and Valve suck, but it's all just business. At least we know generally when the game will be released and that it is for sure done.
 
no point bitching about it, no one knows what is actually going on so why argue about it?

exact oppositefor me: until valve says otherwise, i'll believe that 0%.

look if valve finished the game, why WOULDN'T they tell us? no, it's not done yet. and valve will be the first ones to tell us.
 
They are referring to "Finished the game" as a quote before E3, when they have finished all the levels and stuff.
 
If valve is actually finished the game, then should they not tell the press?

I really hope that this does not turn from a problem with valve to a problem with vivendi. That will just delay the game more...and that's the LAST thing that the fans and valve want. Valve does not want to miss another release date. So when they say summer, they mean summer.
 
Why keep making pointless guesses and saying we shuld expect it near fall at latest bla blabalah , just shut up and wait, talking and listening to people moan about how they think it wont be out for ages just makes waiting that much harder and longer.

Oh, no, not another thread about the release date. Nobody except Valve knows when it's going to be released.
 
Oh, no, not another reiterated post on what is already apparent.
 
As far as I know HL2 radio didn't really give us any new information, and anything new should be taken with a pount of salt.

We've always known that HL2 was extremly close to ready...but this bit about Vivendi delaying the release 3 months is strange. I think they're full of it, and I'll wait until we have emails from valve confirming or denying this information.
 
Half Life Radio likes taking it in the ass. I wouldn't trust them as far as I can throw them.

I remember saying that back in August of 2003.

Only it was November not september.
 
Just stop and think for a second: if HLradio had said anything worth crowing about, don't you think there'd be a big, well titled thread on it already?
