Release Date

Please don't think this is another thread going on and on about the actual date. I just want some opinions.

What do you think is better? That valve did what they are doing, drew a line in the sand for the release date and stuck to it, even though they give us little information, OR would you have preferred them to say ' It will be released when it's done ' like so many other game companies. That might have driven lots of fans mad with frustration, but it might have prevented all the flaming going on in lots of forums. What is your opinion?

The first one.

They probably did it as much for their benefit as they did for ours. With a deadline they know what they have to work towards. They thought "Better get this done before the 30th of September" instead of "Oh well, we have plently of time".

It drove them, that's a good thing.

Ok if nobody likes this thread then close it, it was just an idle thought. I would put a poll in now but I dunno how to. I went to edit my first message but its been more than 15 minutes. Interesting replies anyway. Obviously no-one likes it when game manufacturers are vague. I hope your paying attention, game manufacturers! :cheese:
