Release Dates

Ok its near enuff now 9:00 in uk and still nothing so i presume that it isn't out today. Like a lot of other people i had faith that it would actually be available to all of us by today, but sadly not

I know this isn't the first game to slip but i think this sorta thing is happenin way to often. Ok it might be one of the biggest games ever but if it isn't going to make the release date dont play us along. I think games companies need to sort themselves out in this area, this setting a release date then when it finally comes and then saying it will be out soon or whenever its finished is just pissin people off.

You might argue and say that oh stfu and stop moanin, just be patient, but when a release date gets set by anyone do you not expect them to make some sort of an attempt to make it? btw im not just talking about the whole situation with hl2. Just cos it's a game that millions of people are waiting for don't mean you can string them along. And yeah they might say oh we just have a few bugs to sort out......all this should have been considered when they posted the release date, if you are not sure about it then dont announce, all your gonna end up doing is dissapointing people.

Err yes it is 9 here in the UK....But EST is -5 and PST is -8 to us anyhow (centre of the world btw ) so... there is hope yet... Who says they announced it at exactly 0:00.01 30/09/03...

If Valve does release the benchmark today, it will be to the press, not the public. I for one think they owe us that much, to make it a PUBLIC release, but with Valve you never know.

If they do release it, I think it will be press only. Atleast we'll see a good range of benchmarks on extreme setting, aa af, etc.

I'm sure you feel good flaming people for speaking as if they don't realize that HL2 has been delayed for real but I'm afraid to rain in on your parade. It's quite obvious that people accept the delay so you can stop trying to feel good about your self. Also, always keep your options open and never doubt anything till you see it
